Hi Zenimax :) Please unlock FPS to 60hz on STADIA

Hi

As a long time player I love being able to play on the couch while interacting with the more active PC ESO community. Stadia allows me to do this, but please I'm begging zeni to unlock the FPS for the game to 60hz since running dungeons and pvp at 30hz quite frankly sucks.

I'm pretty sure that the hardware stadia's servers run on can play this game smoothly @ 60hz.

Thanks

Have to second this. Have tried Stadia for the first time couple weeks ago. Used same PC + same internet as I always use to play ESO on (to have fair comparison) and the experience was much worse. Even with graphics set much lower than on PC version everything felt choppy, even things like scrolling through menus and inventory or turning camera around and there was lot of lag. And I mean A LOT - my rotation was basically one sklill cast out of sync of what was going on on the screen. Killed some world bosses like that, but simply had to keep going through on muscle memory and hoping what needs to get hit is being hit - it felt awful. Wouldn't dare to run dungeons or PvP like that. Nice to be able to grab endevors and event tickets on laptop + hotel wifi while out of the town, though.

Pretty sure you are wrong about this.

That's stadia's lag and has nothing to do with 30/60, asking stadia to send more info would make things worse, not better.

What lag? I do vet dungeons on stadia just fine. My CCU is connected via USB to ethernet.
My other CCU is on 5Ghz which is very playable. Drop to 2.4Ghz and it's unplayable.

This is 100% Stadis limitations. Posting this here will not help. From Stadia's launch its been clear their systems are inferior to GeForce Now that was sadly dropped.

Idk, maybe it's naivete on my part, but perhaps ZOS will see complaints and go: "Yo, Stadia, players say our game runs like slideshow on your platform. Let's work together to fix that!" Like, I know it's not lag on my end, since PC version runs fine with the exact same setup. So, perhaps ZOS and Stadia can see which one of them is dropping a ball (and potentially loosing customers / money) here and do something about it?

Ok, definitely naivete on my part, but one can dream :D .

Stadia from the start has under delivered on what they have promised. I highly doubt you will see 60fps from Stadia any time soon. They have scaled back what the service was promised to offer including studios making content for Stadia. Google has a reputation of dropping endeavors that don't instantly jump to the level of success they expect. I would not be surprised if Google closed Stadia with not much notice, as they have done dozens of times in the past with other projects.

Pc and console players have already had to suffer server lag and desync issues because calcs were moved from client to server to allow the substandard stadia platform to run the game, the last thing we need is more stadia centric optimisation being introduced.

I'd hoped with the Microsoft buyout Zeni and ZOS would let that failed platform wither and die.

Zos already had to move a bunch of the behind the scene stuff to server side cause stadia couldnt handle it & even if stadia can possibly do 60 hz I'm sure it would come with some issues.

Just for info, the Stadia video stream is always 60hz even if the game isn't rendering at 60hz.

Just for info, I've tried both via PC and Stadia and I'm not having any of those problems. So there might be other factors that affect your situation such as your local or external network, whether you have hardware decoding or not, browser settings and so on. Stadia does not always just work out of the box due to relying things like your network configuration, local hardware capabilities for handling the video stream and other local settings. Stuff that Stadia/Google have no control over.

Pretty sure you are wrong about this.

Getting ESO to do 60hz in Stadia is a matter of reducing the graphical fidelity and not about trying to do what it does now twice as fast. They wouldn't have to do any optimizations at all to do it, and it wouldn't have any effect on anyone else.

Just go into your graphical settings on you PC and set everything to minimum for comparison.

The Stadia port has no manual graphical settings that affect performance, it has all been deactivated and preset to something that "always" runs at 30hz. So that's what Stadians are asking for; A way to activate a 60hz performance mode with lower fidelity but at 60hz.

Stadia should greatly benefit from the recent Multi-threading GPU option.
But I doubt it will get turned on until it comes out of beta. Which shouldn't be too long as it's working great for me on PC!
