Have they altered it recently? I use a combination of craft tree perks and three separate gear sets to achieve a high reduction on my detection radius. Makes looting cities and towns very fun.
Now I'm seeing that NPCs are detecting me a lot more easily than before. My reductions stack to 9 metres and yet some NPCs are detecting me when they're not even that close to me.

I go to Markarth every day and check/steal from the containers near the daily quest givers. I know the route of the guard, and always position my char in a way to block LOS. Some days the guard is away from the area and I still get detected, other days I'll go undetected even though I'm in LOS with the guard.
It's weird, as if the game doesn't check all the parameters every time.
(I use Alpha Gear to change into my thief setup, so this isn't happening because I forgot to equip an item. The green star isn't a slotable one, but I suspect that some days the game doesn't "read" which stars are active.)0 -

Yes, some abilities that could remove stealth or invisibility were altered in Update 31. It is reasonable to think that some things were overlooked and have created "bugs".Have they altered it recently?Fan of playing magblade since 2015. (PC NA)

✭✭✭✭✭They have changed how stealth works recently, but there were no comments on how it would affect sneaking, so yeah, it's definitely possible they introduced some bugs or made changes that they forgot to mention in the patch notes.This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.1 -
K9002✭✭✭✭✭Something is wonky with the final detection radius calculation. I can stand behind a single NPC inside of a building and it will keep bouncing between detected and hidden. Happens in both light and heavy armor, on characters with the passive green CP star. On some days it feels like NPCs have nearly 360 degree vision too. Maybe they're affected by positional desync?3 -

✭On console I used BIS 5 Night Mother; 3 Night Terror; 4 Darloc (including 2 Hidden Moon Bands) - and I could literally stand on an NPC and they couldn’t detect me. I would use their collision to one-hand follow them around - pushing against their butt to steer - and they couldn’t detect me.
On PC, after CP2.0 - I have the same set-up, and get detected all the time. It is definitely NOT the same sneak.
