[PvP] Create a No-faction side for Solo Players

Hello there,
As a solo player in PvP, I would LOVE being involved in a No-Faction side, where every players can attack me. As a solo PvP, sometimes we meet great person helping quests or doing somes Roleplay, always in the respect of each others without attacking. At least, we need a spawn spot, maybe 5 or 6 differents spots on the Cyrodiil frontline all around, or just randomly appears in the map.

What do you think ?

No. This is an outrageous senseless and too "bold" idea. This will never happen.

And why factionless? I also met red & blue players who didn't attack me because they where either pve'ers or werent interested in a fight.
Also saw roleplayers doing their thing in Cyrodiil while PvP'ers did ignore them because it was obvious to everyone they werent there to fight.

Can you attack every player in turn?

Because as someone who fights for EP, I can see a number of problems that a "mercenary" faction could create for players like me.
    • Can you capture objectives like keeps and resources? Can you pick up Scrolls? Lots of trolling potential there if you can. Worse, if you can't, there's no incentive for you to actually play for the sake of campaign score and every incentive to just roll around the map looking for "good fights" at the expense of players who are trying to win the campaign for their alliance. Imagine a ball group on the "No-faction" faction just running laps around a keep, with no reason to leave, assist other players, or even capture the keep.
    • Is the population cap being expanded to account for a fourth "No-faction" faction? Or are the three existing alliances cut down from 33% to 25% to account for the presence of a fourth faction?
    • Cyrodiil is designed for AvAvA, which often feels like A+A v A. Hence the prevalence of Team "Green/Orange/Purple" complaints. Adding a fourth team might balance things out for the underdog, but let's be honest, it would also create situations that are A+A+A v A, with the underdog alliance likely having less players to defend their territory.

So I have some qualms about how it would work, practically, from the viewpoint of someone who enjoys fighting for EP.

Would be great to have an imperial faction.

Because of current population locks I don't think this idea is viable. Also not a good idea because it creates more opportunity for griefing. If this were put in game to keep trolling down a bit non faction players would need to be unable to enter keeps. During events we always have a few trolls that like to gank inside buildings where quests are turned in. If non faction were allowed in keeps for any reason at all ganking as players enter would be a year long problem. Non faction should also have zero access to siege equipment. No way they should be able to influence the map in any way. That means no flipping flags at resources and no AP.
In the end all the change would do is give gankers more targets.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

Aside from the faction lock supporters, this idea has been thrown around for ages but ZOS most likely won't listen. They profit from Alliance Change Token way too much to make this go through. I am 100% supportive of it though because I only care about fights and not faction loyalty. However, a "Rogue" faction should have zero influence over the map, meaning no leaderboards, resource/keep flipping, etc. A rogue faction's only purpose should be to fight any faction.

First problem, they would need a new home base.
Also what would prevent the no faction players from taking sides?
A lot of work and details to make it work right.
Should fix all the underlaying problems before more layers of problems added. :)

Are you talking about just a campaign that has absolutely no factions? Just everyone solo in some free for all?

Sounds boring actually, because solo players typically stand around eachother and don't attack eachother. It would be a campaign of everyone just standing around each other.

Just duel, in that case. You can't 1vX if there's no X. That's why I never understood the shade thrown at "zerglings".
You need them to do your thing. It's a symbiotic relationship even though no one realizes it.

Maybe a campaign in Imperial city with that option, don't think it would work too well in Cyrodiil.

This suggestion comes up a lot. If they were to do it, they should just create 3 new zones in Cyrodiil like they do whenever they make a new zone. Rather than open the pretty empty cyrodiil for PVE, just make new full zones with a lot to do in Cyro. Main landmarks are still there as they are in PVP, but it's a PVE version of the zone that has more clutter that wouldn't be as good for a PVP experience. That's about it.

I agree with a factionless option. We have had AvAvA for nearly 7 years now. Time to add some change into Cyrodill. By all means keep the AvAvA to please the roleplayers and people who just genuinely like that. But honestly its time for some things to be added and way better incentives to actually do PvP.

I agree with this Having a non-faction group has the potential of creating more problems compared to the limited benefits it could bring to some players which would essentially have no real benefit for the game.

Until Cyrodiil performance improves to the point where we can double the player cap to og numbers I don't think this would be a good idea to implement.

    Favorite Foods and Potions
    https://media.giphy.com/media/3otPoTggaYFNd1FdAI/giphy.gif
    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

I think that is a very fair and reasonable statement. Id rather have a perfect working cyrodill with old eso pvp numbers than anything else.
