Weapon swapping -

Does anyone know if it is possible to have the same weapon in both slots and just have a diffrent skill set when switching?
If it is possible - how do you do it?
I have tried but maybe I'm doing something wrong and it just moves the weapon from one slot to the other.

You cannot have the same exact weapon in both slots, you can have 2 of the same weapon type in both slots.

Not the same weapon. You can have two identical weapons equipped in both(if you have two of course) But if you have one unique weapon you can only have it in one slot.

You can have the same weapon type in both slots, but not the exact same weapon.
