Do you think the PvP players are the ones buying Player Homes and Cosmetics?

PvP games are what pushed cosmetic microtransation cash shops into the main monetization of online games

And why some of the fanciest and flashy people I see in ESO are the hard core players! Especially the ones in Cyrodiil.

Zergs and raids can be quite fashionable, with fitting horses.

True this. If I want to look at a bunch of fancy mounts, either I go hang out in Belkarth when the trials PUGS are forming up in Craglorn or I hang out in my Alliance Base in Cyrodiil when the PVP guilds are forming up for raid. As long as the mount didn't have a visual effect that gave away our position, players broke out their expensive mounts for racing across Cyrodiil. In a raid of 16-20 players, we'd have a fair portion of radiant apex mounts.

Dedicated players in general - whether it's housing enthusiasts, questers, or endgame PVEers and consistent PVPers - tend to spend a lot of money on ESO cosmetics. And why not? When you love a game, you want to look good while you are playing it.

You have less lag when you look good. Fact. ;)

    Actually WE don't...

    Don't need cosmetics...

Just "chose" motif styles, then asked a Master Crafter if they had them, gave them what they needed, and had "look" crafted for FREE...

I mean, it might be all broken and making PvP more broken, but they literally did just dump a bunch more PvP sets and stuff into the game and they're adjusting proc meta because of PvP so like I know it's easy to whine the game only caters to RPers and casuals, but acting like they don't do anything for any other play type is straight up incorrect.

If you really believe that the PvP community as a whole doesn't spend a ridiculous amount on crown store stuff, you're kidding yourself, matey.

And as someone who engages with almost all playstyle communities in this game, I can tell you that most of them feel like they are being slighted for the sake of other communities. Look at the way the class system and mechanics has become more and more abstracted away from anything like the Elder Scrolls models to appease the power gamers and the PvPers, and tell me how that has anything to do with Elder Scrolls people or " sKyReM bAby'S ". Look at the proliferation of gear sets with random, meaningless, half-assed lore names stuck on without care that everyone just immediately costumes over. Tell me what the hell the champion system has to do with lore.

If ZOS didn't want PvP in the game, they simply wouldn't have it. They've changed their model and philosophy drastically since launch from its original vision, but PvP is still here. They don't favour anyone. They have the unenviable task of trying to build a game that satisfies pretty much diametrically opposed camps, and unfortunately that results in a lot of compromises for all camps.

There are VERY valid points to be made about the state of pvp performance, balance and quantity of content, but you're not making them. If you want to contribute to meaningful discussion, and not just rant and tantrum, don't waste space with dispersions, divisive language and blaming other parts of the community who's entire fault is loving the same game that you do.

I think we can wrap this thread up after that mic drop.

Not really. The players spending the money are the players who own the expensive real cash items. Without any hard data this is the most objective metric we have.

Most arguments I've seen are just speculations as to which demographic these "real money" players belong to, the expressed evidence for which is largely anecdotal with plenty of "Trust me, bros". Hardly compelling.

ZOS will always cater to the players who like to drop real dollar on the game (whichever demographic they belong to) more than those who want to play a working game (whichever demographic they belong to), and this WILL affect the way they approach the game from almost all perspectives.

What have other players got to do with the fact you had a buggy battleground? There are bugs in all aspects of the game. I had a terrible dungeon the other day, with lag and being unable to get through doors and freezing etc, but I don't think that had anything to do with some guild having an RP adventure in Davon's watch, or LameGamer420 dying their new outfit. You'll see plenty of more casual players saying the opposite, that they don't feel they are given enough consideration either.

There is for sure discussion to be had about performance in all aspects of the game (bugs exist outside of PvP too) but when you wade in with divisive 'Gamer(tm)' language it kind of obscures your point.
