Please, flatten these godforsaken speed bumps. All they do is annoy and/or launch people into orbit. Either raise the middle platform or lower the outer ones.

I like the Vivec City speed bump. It keeps me on my toes. Quite literally sometimes.

I'm in Vivec City a lot. Never noticed any speed bump. Where are they? I mainly stay in the crafting area.

Yes, it's-- or they're-- there, on the boardwalk that leads from in front of the bankers to the crafting turn-in crates, somewhere in the vicinity of the ramp that leads down to the outlaws refuge.

In my experience, sometimes the speed bump effect is very noticeable, and sometimes it's unnoticeable. A while back, some players speculated that it might vary depending on the particular instance you're in, but I think the variation might depend on which type of mount you're riding-- horse, guar, senche, camel, etc.-- and/or the side of the boardwalk you're on.

The political climate in Vivec City at the moment won't allow appropriation of funds for such an infrastructure project.

Something to do with an imminent meteor strike and the loss of half of Tamriel.

Well, I travel that route at least 21 times a day. My walker must slow me down enough.

Yeah, sometimes it's like there's no bump, but other times there's a definite drop in speed.

I've observed that some mounts seem to handle rough terrain better than others-- for instance, some mounts almost seem to be able to run across hedges as though they weren't there-- and some mounts seem to "slide" or lose traction when turning, so that might be part of why certain types of mounts seem to be harder-hit by the speed bump than others.

And if you're riding a mount that seems to be harder-hit by it, you can try sticking to certain sides of the boardwalk to see if it makes a difference in how much you're slowed down.

Don't worry! They will fix this in 3E 427, only 741 years!

I love long-lasting little bugs like this. I remember the first few times I hit it, I swerved so violently, that I flew off the boardwalk. Please leave in.

Funny - it is not in all instances - but exists on multiple platforms (at least PCNA, & XBOXNA).

This is critical? Since first gameplay in Morrowind my comp is getting total lag in room leading to Outlaw's entrance... That is annoying.

I don't think it's a bug, I'm pretty sure this is part of a more or less "real life" experience. In my home town it took the responsible guys more then 10 years to fix some problems on the road so why should it be different in Vivec? A perfect city in a computer game doesn't look like reality :-)

Maybe it's there on purpose, to teach us not to be so pressed for saving a second of our time to ride a mount to the turn-in crates. I mean, it's just a ten second run, and I doubt that the mounts saves more than a second or so, when you take into consideration the delay for mounting and unmounting.

"Where do I hand this in?"
"Over there, it's just fifty yards away."
"Fifty yards? Geez, that takes forever to run. Let me call my horse."

I've never seen anyone get launched into the water because of the speed bump.

On the other hand, I occasionally end up in the water because of swerving to avoid the NPC who likes to walk around on the boardwalk, or from trying to dodge other players (even though I can ride right through them).

And then there are the times I accidentally steal a shield or weapon while trying to turn in my Woodworking, Blacksmithing, or Clothing writ, and must jump into the water to escape the NPC at the turn-in crates or-- if he's over by the crates instead of further away where he's supposed to be-- the nearby guard.

There's actually two spots towards the daily turn-in there, that launch players. Absolutely hilarious when they land in the water!

PS: Hate it when they launch me! Luckily I've never ended up in the water because of them. :sunglasses:

There are some pieces of responsible architecture in the thieves guild refuge. New Ebonheart is being built upon the shattered remains of an ancient site of daedra worship. The evidence suggests it was a temple to Sheogorath.

Throwing people off the dock and into the water is just one of the Mad God's little a jokes, clearly there by design. Lucky there are no slaughter fish there anymore ;)

I never get launched into the water, but I also I never ride my mount to the writ turn in crates. I have 6 characters who do daily writs in Vivec. Some days none of them notice anything out of the ordinary, some days a few do, some days all of them do. When it happens, it happens shortly into the pier walkway just past where the first set of supports are, where I'm suddenly above the boards as if I ran up and over an invisible ramp or rock. Then I land, sometimes with a slight stumble, and continue my run to the writ boxes. This never happens running back the other way. <shrug> It's not a big deal, but it has been noticeable as it happens very often.

There needs to be an outfit station down in the crafting area.
    This is truly game breaking.

    And a bag size vendor.

The ramp/speed bump thing is fun. I actually like it. I think it became more noticeable when we got full time major gallop.

Sometimes my character takes flight when they hit that specific bump. They get some air and it's wild.

Never once seen this in all my time there. Not sure I'd call it critical.
