Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

So will there be any compensation for EU players?

I come back from work and login to ESO so I chill a bit before going to bed, get some event tickets and pvp.Game crashes. I gave up waiting and just went to sleep, ill do some progression on my eso checklist next morning, no problem. But wait, there is more. its the maintenance that they should ve done on a Monday morning! thanks a lot ZOS, to make me not wanna play your game anymore!

They should show they care their customers in EU, and provide some kind of compensation, any kind really.

If they'd compensate us everytime servers have issues, they'd be bankrupted in no time
    NB enthusiastic:
    1. Woodhippie stamblade - DW hard-hitter / PvE
    2. Know-it-all elf Magblade - Healer / PvE & PvP
    3. Hate-them-all elf Magblade - Destrostaff AoE monster / PvE
    4. Cyrodiil-Refugee stamblade - Stamina Tank / PvE

    Go dominion or go home

Nightblade-Hipster. I played Nightblade before it was cool - from 1.5 onwards.

jokes aside all they have to do is extend the event maybe, or give our a different daily reward for once like some boxes or boost weekly endeavor rewards. its literally very easy to win player's hearts.

The only thing likely to be extended for pc:eu is maintenance.

And the only tickets available will be support ones.

    Very rewarding. :|

So you posted at 2:36 AM EDT, while there was still 1 hour 24 minutes to grab the final tickets and event coffers?

EDIT: It would be more productive to go grab what you can. That's what I'm doing-- on 2 servers, yet, even with getting killed repeatedly in IC.

EDIT #2: Yay, I just barely did it, despite some EP who were trying their best to prevent it! Thank you for another fun event, ZOS! :)

To be fair he could be writing his frustrations while on a train or bus to somewhere from his phone..

I also sometimes feel the EU crowd gets the short end of the stick more times than not..
Servers should function on around the same capacity and from one who plays on both servers.. I dont always feel like that..

The servers were down between 8 p.m., when I first had time to try logging in, and midnight, by which time I went to bed. Had I known the fix will be done by midnight I would have stayed up to grab the multiple time-contstrained dailies, but there was no ETA on the fix advertised anywhere.

If ZOS can't guarantee that the game is available everyday during the peak playing time, then they should not have so many rewards that can only be claimed on a specific day. Because of the downtime yesterday I lost the chance to claim:

    - the final daily reward for the month
    - the daily seals of endevour
    - the daily crafting writs (which I noirmally do on 10 characters)
    - the event ticket (well, technically two, but I'm not going to pretend I participate in the PvP side)
    - one Glorious Year One box

Luckily for them then, that we've all signed an agreement before creating our characters.. Yes, it's annoying, but this happens..

I'm just pointing out the contradictions between their player incentive policies and their technical capabilities. It wouldn't have killed them to allow to claim rewards over 48 hours instead of 24 eliminating most of the frustration whenever the hardware doesn't live up to the expectations.

True about where the OP pergaps was or wasn't when posting.

But it sounded like they had just gotten up with intentions of getting in some playtime and making progress on their checklist, and they kind of made it sound like maintenance had already started even though it hadn't.

I know not everyone checks the forums every single day, or social media like Twitter (I don't) or Reddit (I don't), but the fact that there was going to be maintenance this morning at 4 AM EDT had been announced well in advance.

Also, ZOS doesn't know for sure how long the maintenance will take, so it's always possible that it will end earlier than what the schedule says and give people a little more time to wrap up their event activities. We can always hope, right?

As far as I know the nearest they've ever come to compensating any players for problems with events is when they included the rewards from the Undaunted event in New Life because they had to completely cancel the Undaunted event due to the group finder being more broken than usual.

Anything short of an entirely cancelled event doesn't get acknowledged.

Yesterday they even put out an unfortunately timed tweet asking what fun things players were doing during the last days of the event...after the EU servers were down for emergency maintenance just before the scheduled maintenance. Apparently no one thought to tell the social media team there was a problem.

Australia East Coast: downtime 6pm to MIDNIGHT.
If I had been working in my office today I'd have gotten NO playtime at all - but luckily - since we're locked down again, I got 2 hours in.
I'm glad for that. Yes, maintenance sucks. It ALWAYS affects us worse than anyone else (IMHO, of course) - but it is what it is.
ZOS posted in the Maintenance forum that the extension is due to them doing work on cold storage and sharding, which should hopefully improve everyone's game play.

    Greetings!

Recently, we've had to remove a few posts for Baiting and Bashing, content that is against the Community Rules.
    • Bashing and Slanderous Comments: We do not permit the bashing of individuals (including ZeniMax employees), groups, or other companies on our forums. We believe that doing so is neither constructive nor in spirit of our game and community.
    • Trolling or Baiting: The act of trolling is defined as something that is created for the intent to provoke conflict, shock others, or to elicit a strong negative or emotional reaction. It’s okay and very normal to disagree with others, and even to debate, but provoking conflict, baiting, inciting, mocking, etc. is never acceptable in the official The Elder Scrolls Online community. If you do not have something constructive or meaningful to add to a discussion, we strongly recommend you refrain from posting in that thread, and find another discussion to participate in instead. It is also not constructive or helpful to publicly call out others and accuse them of trolling, or call them a troll—please refrain from doing so. If you genuinely believe someone is trolling, please report the post or thread to the ESO Team, and leave it at that.
For further posts be sure to stay constructive and respectful to avoid thread derailment.

    Thank you for understanding.

    Of course, we do.
What I understand is that while paying the same amount of money, the EU crowd gets provided with less service than the NA people.
These threads come up pretty steady recently, and with given cause.
Yet, as far as I can tell, there has been no compensation whatsoever - ever - after the early days when it all started stuttering, way back in '14.

Besides, I see no trolling nor slandering in stating the obvious.
Minding the choice of words, on the other hand, should be mandatory, of course.

According to some of the earlier things that ZOS have said they are a) running on their original hardware and b) supposed to be getting new hardware. But they've been supposed to be getting new hardware for an awfully long time now.

Assuming their servers were brand new before launch that still makes them 8 years old. That's far enough up the wrong end of the reliability curve that almost all data centres consider such systems totally life expired so the sooner ZoS are on current hardware the better IMHO.

As to compensation - I'll place a bet that it'll never happen until there is a massive outage on NA, because the EU relies upon regulators who do nothing and regulation that says contracts are unfair but with no teeth whilst the US has class action lawyers who remind me of slaughterfish 8)

Well, the ToS is clear on things like these, but I get the frustration; I was watching a raid on a stream of a scheduled group that had formed and started their run, and then servers crashed so run was cancelled. I mean, even if it was a solo player doing writs, it still sucks, but especially for cases of organiged runs which coordinating in the first place takes some effort. Anyway, let's hope they'll invest more on the servers, it's shameful at this point.

not long ago we have 2 hardware crash on the na servers, i have time to level 1 characters up to 25 on the eu servers while waiting for the na to be back online!

old hardware tends to fail at some points.
