Suggestion: WTB through guild stores

One of the reasons I find ESO's trading system awakward to use is that trying to buy anything can be very time consuming, especially if you're trying to buy something that's not currently popular or profitable for traders to sell like lower level equipment or odd amounts of materials.
One possible solution I've thought of is to add 'buy slots' to guild stores so in addition to listing items you have for sale you can list items you want to buy and how much you're willing to pay for them. Then other people browsing the store can check to see what you want and if they have it and they're willing to part with it for what you're offering they can sell it to you. (Then they get the gold and you get the item through the mail, just like when you've sold something.)
This could also give players who aren't currently in trading guilds another way to engage with the system and maybe an incentive to use their guild store (or join a guild) if they see there's demand for items they're got. But the main benefit would be giving players like me a way to buy things which don't get many listings in guild stores without wasting time standing in a city spamming chat or endlessly trawling TTC hoping to find a listing.

I like this idea, its like personally setting up writs. This is what stock traders do in real life when buying stock. Right now there is only the selling side of the equation being expressed. With the buyer input price equilibrium can be had.1 -

You really think if I went to Mournhold and listed the small amounts of unrefined mid-CP crafting materials I'm trying to find exactly once each, then went on with my day, I'd get them all? If not then it's more inconvenient than listing things for sale in a guild store.
I'm well aware that if I commit an evening or a weekend afternoon to standing in town spamming chat over and over I will probably eventually be able to find most of what I'm looking for, but I'm looking for an alternative that doesn't waste as much time and isn't as annoying for potential buyers. In this case you seem to be looking for minute amounts of a virtually unused item as an example. Your potential solution is to create an overhauled search engine to allow looking for X.
The in-game solution already exists in three cases:
1) Go to each trader and search specifically for X,
2) Post in a zone chat that you’re looking for X, and
3) Take out Skill Points and go farm for X yourself.
The last one is a universal solution and can be modified to farming any specific item which can be traded. You can always do it yourself and often for less effort than it takes the developer to permanently rewrite the functionality of an entire game-wide system.
Also I hope you do realize that ZOS doesn’t want you to spend less time in game searching but rather more. The less time you spend, the faster you get items, the more likely you are to complete everything you ever wanted to do and abandon the game for something else that holds your interest.
It wouldn’t surprise me in the least that outside of hardcore players PC would have one of the highest drop/return later rates by far for platforms. Using add-ons to facilitate searches and farming of all kinds it’s easy to hit the point where there is nothing to do and immediate goals have been accomplished.

✭✭✭✭✭If they were to do something like this it would have to be attached to a guild trader in some way so you would still need to join a trade guild. Because a guild has to spend in some cases tons of gold to get a trader it would also need to be limited to only guild members able to see what others are looking to buy. Otherwise it would be unfair to members of the guild.and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."2 -
Nazekeen✭✭✭Why would you need 1 specific unrefined crafting mat outside of crafting needs of a character that hasn't fully leveled it yet.And if that's the case, you can probably harvest it within 5 minutes.
I think there are very few players looking for, say, 1 quicksilver ore.
If you're not seeing a specific item, it's either incredibly commonly found or incredibly rare.

✭✭Don't really think it would work to well, a lot of people who sell in zone do so to avoid the guild traders taxes or just don't like having anything to do with the guild trader system or being in guilds preferring to do everything solo.
And stuff that does not sell well and is not popular usually just ends up vendored to NPC merchants or deconned, people don't have the inventory space to hold onto that kinda stuff, long enough to find the buy message on traders.
To me the solution is for ZOS to add some sort of a global trade chat channel, that can be viewed in any zone, that way those looking to buy and sell through chat, can post there messages in one place without have to spam individual zone chats.0 -

Or devs can make a notification system, so anyone who post something u wished, it notify u, the item, the place, so u can travel and buy it
