I do get it why people are annoyed by the bugs, exploits and bots, but also remember ESO is a MMO in the sense that you probably play ESO for years to come. At least that’s the case for me, I played World of Warcraft for years until I got older and was looking for a more mature setting. I tried Age of Conan but that game had so many issues at the start compared to that ESO is much better in its current state. And to me ESO has a solid base to build on, it has the great lore which has so much more to bring for the future expansions and releases. I am really looking forward to eventually travel all across Tamriel someday.
I’m a MMO player, more than an Elder Scrolls veteran. I played a good number MMO’s out there some longer than others, World of Warcraft was my first MMO and Guild Wars 2 the latest until ESO came out. In between I played Age of Conan, RIFT, Star Wars the Old Republic, Lord of the Rings Online and The Secret World. From my current point of view ESO delivers in the base most aspects I liked about the mentioned games. So my comparison is mostly between MMO’s and ESO.
To me the Elder Scrolls Online is a great game and that’s mainly because I find the base of the game so much better than the other options out there. We got three factions to have amazing sieges and battles with, a good PVP system, nice voice acted quest (not a must but a good plus), a good crafting system, good lore and an immersive world, great zones with to me awesome scenery. So I accept the current bugs, exploits and bots because I know when those are solved this game will be even more amazing.
