I'll happily admit that I'm sometimes the guy that drags a mob over your head to take your loot, speeds par you to grab it, I or whatever it takes to get it before/from you.. Sometimes I'm also the guy that spends hours helping out newbs trying out the game for the first time, or whomever needs a hand.. Sometimes I'll remember to unsummon my pet, sometimes I'll tell you to go jump off a cliff.. depends on when you happen to run into me..

    I picked average:

Depends on what I am doing and it depends on the players.

If someone asks a question in chat that I know the answer to I will, respond or end up deleting what I intended to say in chat due to someone responding while I was still in the middle of typing my response.

If someone asks for a price check I will link the TTC info for the item.

If someone asks for help with a dragon/WB/dolmen/geyser/harrowstorm/portal etc and I happen to be in the zone and its a short ride away or close to a way shrine I will sometimes help them, if its a friend or guild mate asking I will generally go and help them even if I am not in the zone provided I am not in the middle of something else.

Daily pledges I will sometimes help out guild mates who need a tank/healer, not always online much so it does not happen often, will also help out with helmet runs for base game dungeons.

If I am riding along and see a player struggling with a fight, I will stop and help them, if they are not struggling I will leave them too it.

Sometimes I bid in trade guild auctions to get the price of the lot up higher, if I screw up and end up as the highest bidder no big loss, regardless I will make a point to win the bid on at least one lot to support the guilds weekly trader bid.

I act as a master crafter for most of the guilds I am in, helping those who know what they want and have the mats ready to go, if its just training/low level PVP gear or a research item I tend to cover the mats up to blue quality aside from jewerly pieces and expensive research traits those need to be provided. Tips are up to the player, I won't say no but have often sent back a large portion of the tip if I felt it was more excessive then the job required.

Example someone asked me to make a single weapon from a 9 trait set, they provided all the mats and tipped me 75K, I sent back 70K, job didn't even take 5 minutes, only long part was waiting for the mail with the mats in it to arrive after that just needed to port to the guild house and make and mail the item.

Other than that I largely keep to myself and play/lurk in offline mode so I am not bothered, I interact if I feel like it if not I carry on with what I am doing, if nothing else I interact a lot more than when I first started the game a few years ago.

I do my own thing. If I interfere with you, it isn't done on purpose, I am just not looking over my shoulders, spinning my camera around to triple check if someone elses is near a chest, resource and whatnot.

Then again, most of the time others don't worry about me either, and why would they. We are all trying to do the same stuff.

Only thing I 100% of the time take care of are my bear, companions and assistants in cities. I think they should despawn on their own there, and respawn when leaving, what do I need them for anyway? To 1v1 the guard in the bank?

I try not to run through people but have due to inattention, same with harvesting nodes, don't grab on purpose if someone else is approaching one will usually let them have it but occasionally just grabbed it because my mind was elsewhere.

    • I steal every node and chest (even better when it's a new player).

    • I duel people next to guards.

    • I always make sure to leave only one fish left in fish nodes so the next player loose time when farming master angler.

    • I teabag, everything, everywhere, all the time.

    • I spam the Dragonguard's horn memento next to quest givers or whenever I queue for a dungeon (always as a "fake" healer, I don't have time to wait).

PS: OF COURSE IT'S A JOKE

Other players? Where? LOL. I usually ignore everyone. I don't care that people have their pets active in Banks or anywhere else. I just go through them. I don't care that PVPers have duels at Wayshrines or anywhere else in towns. Doesn't bother me at all.

I ride to the door and enter in one motion. I never dismount before hand. Why do two actions when I can just press one key to dismount and enter?

Nodes and chests and Thieves troves? Someone else heading there I don't fight them for it. There are plenty out there. I just move on and let others have it.

I don't participate in toxic chat anywhere. If it's really bad I close the Chat box and keep playing the game.

I'm never rude to others since that's just dumb. Treat others as you would want to be treated. Be nice. Enjoy the game. Have fun!

Well, this is some odd moralizing about things that are ultimately unconsequential - especially now that ZOS is changing priority interactions so pets won't block interactions.

Somebody beat you to a node? Move on to the next. I farm Craglorn, frequently seeing other nirmcrux farmers, and this is how the vast majority of farmers react. We'll leapfrog each other for a bit and then eventually split up on our own routes. I respect it if someone is fighting the mobs that normally guard a node or chest. But not everyone does.

Of course, I learned to farm reagents in the competitive heat of the Pre One Tamriel Hollow City with Sorcs streaking past my ear to get to the next flower. It's not yours because you saw it first or because you were running for it. It's yours when you've picked it from the ground.

And if you feel the need to whisper a farmer who beats you, be polite. I've has a number of newer players ask how I'm so fast or harvest so quickly - Darkstride set, Cowards Gear set, and Master Gatherer CP. I've also gotten more hate whispers from players I beat to a node than I have from PVP.

Sorry, but it's not exactly "caring" when you get salty over someone not being as "polite" as you are.

And I'm generally pacifistic toward lone players in Cyro or IC, unless they engage me first.

I have an issue that I want to fight solo players, but since we are both not engaging solo players I have hard time conveying I want a fight, so I end up just walking away :(

I think running up real fast and bashing them in the face will do the trick. Pretty clear message but does minimal damage so they have a chance to recover and run away. If you can't catch them to hit them in the face, well, that answers that. 🤣 Tbh attacking someone in Cyro or IC doesn't make you evil, I'm just a big ole softie.

If I'm in Cyrodiil to engage in PvP, I'll sometimes join a ballgroup or zerg and have a fun time fighting with other players, even though I do so poorly at it-- run up to a 1vX player that we're trying to clear from a keep, fight and get killed, rez and run back for more, over and over. I know I don't stand much chance of killing anyone, but it's fun anyway. It's also fun to help capture a scroll and run in to a friendly keep.

If I'm in Cyrodiil for AvA PvE, I try to stick to scouting missions and capture resource missions, and avoid enemy players as much as possible. I used to have a lot of fun soloing resources, but as of a year ago or so-- when ZOS made some changes to Stamina cost and recovery, IIRC-- it's been much less fun to even attempt them, because my Stamina just gets depleted so fast and I can't get it back quickly enough.

If I'm in Cyrodiil for questing PvE, I leave enemy players alone when I see them doing the quests, too. It's a nice feeling to ride up to a quest giver to grab or turn in a quest, see an enemy player doing the same thing, and both of us just leave each other alone and coexist peacefully. I was doing that the other night, but then an enemy player ran up and wiped me out while I was in the middle of a quest. I didn't even try to fight back, just out up a block, but he didn't want to get the nessage-- and it's a war zone, after all. I lay there and watched him do the quest, then ride off to turn it in, before rezzing at a friendly keep to return and finish it myself.

The other week I almost had fun in PvP while trying to do a scouting mission that had been sitting in my Journal from the last MYM event. I had ported to the nearest keep and was riding to the place I needed to scout when an enemy EP player rode past me-- practically rode through me-- but didn't attack. I could tell from the map that EP was fighting AD for the keeps around Lake Rumare, so I guess they weren't interested in me because they had more important things to do. So I got to the milegate I needed to pass through and saw a bunch of EP players chasing a couple of AD players through the milegate. I sat there on my camel, watching them, and they all left me alone. Then one EP player who was at the tail end decided to veer off and come attack me. I'm thinking, oh well, I guess I'm about to get a free ride back to base. So I just sat there on my camel while he's bashing away at me-- and I'm not getting dislodged, nor taking much damage. So I thought, huh, I'm not dead, and decided I might as well start fighting back to see how it went, dismounted, started fighting him, we're just about evenly matched and the fight is kind of fun-- and then another EP player came running up behind me and killed me with a couple of hits. I took note of the first player's character name and thought about whispering him to see if he'd be open to a 1v1 fight with me, but I wasn't sure how he'd respond, so I just rezzed back near base and stuck to doing the Chorrol dailies (which was actually what I'd gone to Cyrodiil for that night).
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

I fully respect other players' space. I don't knowingly snipe nodes from others, and I don't run in on nodes where a player is fighting mobs right there. I never have my combat pets out in town, crafting areas/banks, or at wayshrines.

I try to be as kind to everyone as I would like them to be kind to me. *shrug* It doesn't always work that way - others snipe nodes, etc. from me, but that's just how the online gaming world is.

    __________________________Backstories:_________________________

Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard warrior; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from the undead zombies, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; was asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting living enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being a Yokudan warrior wields a massive sword in respect to the Ansei, a gift given by the Imperial, Cinan Tharn. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight, so he also carries a giant maul, both weapons laced with magical flames.

Jux Blackheart is a master thief that masquerades as a Bard at the Sisters of the Sands inn, with his younger sidekick Lucky Hunch for pilfering and gambling during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any towns bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of his greed and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight. He lost his left pinky fingertip as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught red-handed...

Upon arrival back in the Alik'r after many moons of adventuring, Ras Kalik ventures to Bergama. Visiting The Winking Jackal, he runs into Jux Blackheart, who introduces him to the coin game Crowns vs Forebearers (Heads vs Tails) and Golden Dwemer (RBG).... Jux constantly takes gold from the unfortunate thru theft or gambling, his biggest gambling victim is actually his partner in crime known as Lucky Hunch the Gambler. Lucky doesn't mind losing any gold coins to Jux... as Jux saved him from Altmer slavers in Summerset, by stealing a key and sending him on a boat to the mainland years prior. Lucky spent years in slavery with Khajiits in Summerset and picked up the art of subterfuge, using illusion magic disguises and stealing there.

Kaotik Von’Daemon an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, an Imperial mercenary and two other soldiers, an Imperial and a Breton Knight, stating proudly he was an Akavir descendent. One of the Imperials, Cinan, claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (One of Ras Kalik's mentors in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn was really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son. He was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired Imperial navy battle-mage (now a Lycan mercenary living in the city of Rimmen) and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son Cinan more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn a drunkard, loves to drink at least a quarter barrel of Nord mead before he raids various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Cinan also plans to one day, run an illegal gambling ring... which he thinks will net him more gold for his wares.

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a reknown Imperial/Akavirri battle-mage. His roots going back to Akavir through his mother’s bloodline. (His mother is descended from the Akaviri, through Versidue-Shae, and his Imperial father met her in Hakoshae, while traveling) Herzog earned the nickname "the Genesis" from his father as a child, as he was his mother's first born child, and last, as she tragically died in child-birth.

Herzog was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture and was meeting Tyrus while in Rimmen, who introduced him to Cinan. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Akavir descendant really wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers to meet his mothers spirit, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure but Ras Kalik, did indeed notice the sword however and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Akaviri men parted ways ... While Ras Kalik went off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little did Ras Kalik know a few people were awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The necromancer known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons in Elsywer, is awaiting his arrival also. Aurik is a soldier of the Daggerfall Covenant that was introduced to necromancy while in the military, even though this magicka art is not spoken of openly by most of the Military leaders. He came to Alik'r and worked with the Withered Hand before Ras Kalik intervened on their plans. After the defeat of the Withered Hand, he aligned with the Worm Cult, and is constantly adapting and perfecting his necromantic arts.

After his journey to Rimmen, Kalik heads south to Senchal, in the southern regions of Elyswer. This new adventure will also put him on a path to meet a strange Redguard man. The stranger which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is known as Tsar al-Bomba and he is on a path to spread the disease. He was originally infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Tsar al-Bomba know, that his infection is tied to Vampirism, and eventually the desire for blood will take over his mind. Senchal also offers Kalik his latest love interest... Aeliah. Whom he fondly led thru battles with the Dragonguard.

After the trek thru the heat, tropical and desert climate of Northern and Southern Elyswer, Ras Kalik heads north to the cold mountain range of Skyrim. His companion friend Lyris beckons for him with a letter sent by crow...

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected), within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Uri Ice-Heart - brother of Urfon Ice-Heart. The twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart. The Ice-Heart family are originally from Markarth but now reside on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, with their younger sister Araki. The twins had joined the Winterborn Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed west to Orsinium with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri stayed behind with his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety, avoiding the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. After news reaches him and he hears of Urfon's death... Uri leaves and heads home and is seeking vengeance. Meanwhile, his sister has also moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild. He will visit his sister, once before going to seek vengeance and she will craft him armor mixed with ice, called Stalhrim armor. Uri fearing death, after his brother's passing, falls victim to the convincing talk of Movárth at a Nordic tavern, and will also becomes a vampire.

I'm really interested about the outcome of this poll. It's anonymous so that everybody can feel free to answer honestly without being embarrassed.

What I mean with "behavior" is for example: do you run over players on your way or do you go around them? Do you mount//dismount straight at door, without caring to go a few steps away? Do you back up if someone arrives at a pant/tree/ore node/chest before you or do you speed up to take it under his/her nose? Do you turn off your pets when at vendors/crafting stations/... or not? And so on...

I believe that there are 3 main categories: those who fully care, those who care but not all the time and/or not for everything, those who just go straight forward not caring.

I try not to run into people because it breaks immersion but often people are running around so fast I can't always manage it. At areas like crafting stations or merchants, I find an empty spot to stand, again for immersion.

I always let the game dismount me. I like to amuse myself by learning the exact spot that happens and leaping, like towards the crafting area in Alinor or on the bridge to the Imperfect.

If I see someone is obviously going for a note or container I will let them. I might not always see them, though.,

I help out when I can. If I'm wandering aimlessly and someone puts out a call for help with a boss I will usually go. If someone asks for a few materials in zone chat I'll send a bunch, sometimes as much as a stack if I can spare it. I don't change for crafting and don't ask for anything unless it involves a rare material like nirncrux. Sometimes people send gold anyway and I accept so as to avoid awkwardness.

I don't go around other players. No collision so why bother. I ride to my destination until I need to dismount. Although I do occasionally dismount ahead of time. That isn't for someone else's sake but from my own decisions. In crafting areas, I never use a mount or keep pets out when I have them. That's bad manners.

If I see someone fighting, I often lend a hand. Specifically on WBs, PD bosses, or any other hard to fight enemy. I will help even if it won't benefit me in the slightest. I once got yelled at for doing so because 'I didn't ask for your hhelp'. Doesn't stop me from helping because the next person could be grateful for it.

I don't hand over chests and nodes. To me they are first come, first serve. However, if I see you fighting the nearby mob I will wait till I'm sure you don't want it before going in.

As for dungeons, I generally keep pace with everyone else. But if I see someone struggling or lagging behind to pick up things I slow down for that person. Even if everyone else rushes ahead. To me it's not about how fast we do it. It's about doing it as a team. No man/woman should be left in the dust.
I also don't believe entirely in keeping strict with roles. As long as you're doing your job and we're killing things I'm happy. I have never kicked or attempted to kick someone for doing poorly. Everyone needs a place to learn and who am I to judge how you build your character. If I don't like how things are going, I will leave. Simple as that.

My interactions with other players in chat varies. Most of the time I stay silent. Sometimes I will answer a question but in general I often stay pretty quiet. I am a very shy person and I don't like talking in general. I won't even voice chat with others. Although I do listen to the channel. Mostly because I treat it like an extension of the zone or local chat. On the rare occasion when my mic is on, I won't say much. Back when my ps5 controller was new to me, I would often forget about the mic being on so all anyone would hear is the game over mic. Once got yelled at by a total stranger one morning for what he interpreted as me heavily breathing over mic. I could've turned it off but instead kept it on to annoy him as long as possible. Very amusing for me, not so amusing for him (still worth being sweared at).

I try to be fair to people around me. Like if I'm in a delve and I see another player working their way through slower than me, I'll wait a few minutes so they can get the boss. I don't node steal, I'll heal struggling players if I find them, stuff like that. I also try to not ever be in the way - no pets or mounts around wayshrines, crafting stations, doors. Just general things, I try not to do things that would irritate me if someone else did them.

Politeness, respect and due consideration for my fellow players at all times. It isn't difficult.

    I'd say I'm probably average.

I usually step back from a competitive situation at a node or chest, and very rarely mount up (and almost never in towns) so that's never a problem for anyone else. I will hang around a moment if I think someone might be in trouble in combat and help out if needed but ESO doesn't seem to be one of the MMOs where "driveby heals" are needed much.

The one thing I don't do is put away my pets in town including at crafting stations - I've never been in the slightest way obstructed by other people's pets and don't understand why they should be by mine. If pets are disabled in towns that would not be a problem, but I honestly believe duellists around wayshrines and crafting stations are far more of a nuisance than pets and I don't see them moving away or being barred from duelling in busy locations.

I guess you can say I'm toxic. I'm hated by many in PvP.

    PvE not so toxic.

If you want a friend, get a dog.

Chose "don' bother with" ... I do my own thing..you do your own thing. BUT...it does tick me off when I am killing trash mobs..and some one comes over and starts jumping in. With the endeavors.."KILL X AMOUNT OF FOES WITH CLASS ABILIITIES" etc... other players should MIND their own business and move along.

    But that's just me....

Riding through and running through other players honestly breaks my immersion. I even avoid people when on roads.

I usually dismount when I enter towns. Again immersion stuff.

Crafting nodes and chests I let who ever saw them first get it. I was over in Hew's Bane during the double drop event to farm mats and I actively gave up several chests and nodes cause I saw other people going for them. Heck I even got into discourse with someone over a chest cause they wanted me to have it but they saw it first.

However, my Clannfear goes where he wants so he stays out. Unless I'm just vibing in town or with friends somewhere, or roleplaying then my little Stan can go home.

So I'm almost completely considerate of others.

Generally, I pretend ESO is a single player game, and the people running any group content are just members of one of my guilds coming to help out.

I treat other players as I want to be treated: with respect. No, I don't steal their chests or even hang around hoping they'll fail. I dismiss pets and dismount when I get into towns. I answer questions properly if I know the answer. I encourage them to walk through dungeons and do the quests slowly and read all the stuff.

I must admit that irritates me no end.
