Seriously though is this thing bugged? I have been doing bg's like 100's of them in the last month or two and getting first quite a bit of those in the matches and this thing has still never dropped for me, just wonding if anyone else has gotten one or seen it drop? Mabye I just have bad luck, but if this thing is really that rare I think they need to raise the drop rate just a tad, cause having to do 100's upon 100's of bg's to get one is seriously ridiculous especially when I am getting in first a lot and winning and still just getting junk drops.

✭✭✭✭✭I've bought some of the xp drinks during MYM so at least we know that it does drop. But I guess it's purposefully low so that the crown scrolls become a more attractive option.2 -

It's the Aetheric Cypher of pvp dude, it's maybe the rarest item of the game (I've seen some of these recipes going for +20Mil in guild store)I'm a single character man.
Stamblade. Khajiit. Mostly pvp.

Yes it exists.
It’s rarity and the rarity of the mats needed for it are astronomically ridiculous. There is absolutely no reason, no reason at all that an item as such that doesn’t affect AP should be so stupid rare. It’s up there with the Banner of the Sixth House in The Forgotten Wastes.
It in no way entices the general playing population to engage in BGs for it because as it is you’ll hit 5 star well before you even get a chance to use it.4 -

✭✭The one that drops in Cyro isn't as bad, but isn't all that easy to find either. I have found it twice, a long time ago when it first came out while running around questing. I have not seen one again for almost a year now, and I am generally keeping an eye out for it, since you can spot it from quite a distance.0 -

✭Yes indeed - the rarity of the two war torte recipe books (for tier 1 and tier 3 tortes), and the Tel Var cost of the middle book (for tier 2 tortes) - plus the equally absurd cost of the ingredients for the tier 2 and tier 3 tortes - makes them pretty much useless.
Worse still, you need THREE of the tier-1 recipe books, and TWO of the tier-2 ones (thus costing a full million in Tel Var), because you need a tier-1 book to make a tier-2, and you need a tier-2 book to make a tier-3 book.
Honestly, the tier 1 book really ought to be reasonably common - as in Psijic Ambrosia Recipe levels of common (i.e. common enough to cost a few thousand in the mall, not a few million). The tier 2 book AND the ingredient (Rubyblossom Extract) could productively have a zero knocked off their Tel Var price and would still be absurdly expensive. And the tier 3 book needs to, well, exist at all.3 -

I don't understand why there is such difference in terms of scarcity between the +XP recipes and the +AP recipes.
Maybe certain parameters were misadjusted? the Aetheric Cypher for instance is exceedingly rare too however the sources from which it can be obtained are... well, legion and it can also drop from jubilee reward boxes.
If they adjusted the chance to drop of Chef Arquitius's Lost Thesis based on the same 'table' so to speak this could lead to the current frankly brutal scarcity.
On the upside - I guess - Mourning Dew seems to be easier to come by than Aetherial Dust.
I generally take the chance when there are double drops from nodes in Cyro to do a little bit of farming and is rare for me not to end up with 15-20 of them in the same amount of nodes that would yield 0 Aetherial Dust under the same circumstances (double drops from nodes in base game PvE zones).
In fact I can't remember when was the last time I had dust 'drop' from a node, all the ones I can remember came from jubilee boxes, where this recent Mayhem I walked away with 18 dews and two Colovian recipes.
However IMO the largest mismatch is Aetherial Ambrosia vs Molten War Torte. I don't know how (or even if) the devs calculate in-game value but in real terms, using PC/EU as reference, is around 250k/recipe and 50k/ingredient for the former vs 9M/recipe and 1.3M/ingredient for the latter.
Even factoring in that Perfect Roe is much, much harder to come by that Cyrodiil Citrus (you need the 'base' consumable in both cases after all) the math doesn't check out (for me).

Getting one of these two items is probably the same odds as winning the lottery.1 -
runa_gate✭✭✭✭Watching JudahBee stream showing people how to find the recipe in Cyo nodes right this moment. I've found 4. She's found 41 I believe. I've found 2 mourning dew, made Molten Tortes a tiny handful of times. Since I farm the hell outta the spring event I have 900 or so Citrus for the AP potions and have about 2700 so I just hand em out randomly in keeps and rss. Saw the Lost Thesis on TTC once for 24 million on PC/NA and the mourning dew does sell sometimes so presumably one or two people know the recipe and buy them all, but I've certainly never seen one.1
