My husband would play if his laptop was up for it, but it's old and rickety and it just can't manage. We originally intended to play together but other things take financial priority and computers are expensive. When he does finally get an upgraded machine, he wants to play, but I don't know how much playing "with me" will be actually *with me*. He is used to solo games and he's a free spirit and not really into a lot of socializing. I expect that I'll be able to convince him to do a dungeon with me and my friend every once in a while but most of the rest of the time he'll be doing his own thing elsewhere in the game.
I met my husband in ESO 2014. We met in real 2015 and we are happily married and still playing ESO together
Generally he is fine with what i like to do so he helps me, but we mostly pvp together.
congrats...that seems completely crazy to meet in a video game then marry ha but happy it worked out for you. How did it happen...were you in a guild or something?
My former wife hated video games while we were married. Still thinks games are a waste of time. Better friends than mates. So, no I play solo. If I drop my vow of celibacy one day, yep, I'd enjoy playing with a life partner. Cheers.
No, my wife isn't into computer gaming although she has always been a fan of board games including, currently, A Ticket to Ride which we play with the family. Her computer knowledge really only extends to knowing how to browse online shops and put things in the basket for me to deal with ! She is, however, massively supportive of my gaming hobby as she always knows where I am !
We did. I introduced him to ESO back when I could only play on console. He didn't really enjoy PS4 ESO, so when he got a new PC I talked him into trying again with me.
We're currently going through a separation. Unsure if it's permanent or not. We're supposed to still play together as friends, though.
We tried, because we like to play games together but my partner is not into Elder Scrolls as much as me nor enjoyed it as much. Which is a pity since it was some time we played something together, but we also settle for playing different games in the same room.
I'm not currently in a relationship, but I do play ESO with my ex-boyfriend. While we were together he, shall we say, disapproved of the time I spent gaming, but after we made the (fortunately successful) transition back to friendship he realized that it was actually pretty nice to have something fun we could do together. We've gone through several zones questing together, me on an alt, and it works out pretty well aside from the complications of syncing up our schedules. He's also gotten much more into the dungeon and trial side of things than I have, so he's got stuff to do when I'm not around. So it's worked out pretty well for both of us.
I do not. While my husband and I are both avid, lifelong gamers, we have different tastes. He just can't get into the medieval fantasy genre - he played around a bit with Oblivion back in the day and just couldn't get into it. He is usually either iRacing or playing GTA while I play ESO and Red Dead Online.
In the past, we have enjoyed playing Motorstorm (now defunct) and Mass Effect 3 MP together.
PS5 NA. GM of The PTK's - a free trading guild (CP 500+). Also a werewolf, bites are free when they're available. PSN = DragonRacer13
My husband did play for a short while then gave up. Then I got Blackwood for him this year but around the time his old PC stopped the ability to run ESO at all so until he upgrades its not likely. He is currently hooked on Pillars of Eternity.
All the time. The game would be a very different experience otherwise. I would still raid and participate in pvp but probably not often. I would take breaks like I used to in the past when he stopped playing. Probably would not care about housing or rp ^_^ But now his interest has returned to the game beyond just rp and it's much more fun for the both of us
@Seminolegirl1992 PC/NA CP 2400+ PVE, PVP, RP, Housing: Tel Galen, Fair Winds, Moon Sugar, Grand Psijic, Forsaken, HOTLC, Bastion, Ravenhurst, Gardner, Alinor, Hakkvild's, Gorinir, Kragenhome, Hundings, & more- feel free to come see! Wish list
My wife and I play together almost every day. We never did any video gaming through our twenties, but now find ourselves in a position to have two pc's in the same room.
When we only had one, I introduced her to the legend of zelda games first because she had only ever played Pokemon as a kid. We worked through nearly every game and then we picked up skyrim which I never got to play. We would take turns playing characters and following different story lines.
When shutdowns happened, we decided to give ESO a shot. At first, we treated it like an extension of skyrim and didn't ever interact with anyone. We spent most of our time trying to duo as many dungeons as we could (we once stumbled into the Halls of Fabrication and had no idea what it was or why it was different from other dungeons. When we finally worked our way to the first bosses we were like... WHAAAAAAT and finally looked it up online and realized that this was designed for 12 people).
We finally ended up joining a guild to get access to a trader. The guild is mostly run by females and I think that was also a huge boost to my wife's understanding and comfort level playing.
We also chose to embrace this aspect of our life and made our account names @ImHerHusband and @ImHisWife. Surprisingly, there's a large number of couples that play this game, and most of them we would never have known had they not also noticed our tags and mention it with happy surprise. One night we were matched through dungeon finder 4 times in a row with different couples.
This does have a negative side effect. We are fond of pvping together and our tags do seem to result in her getting bagged more or the infrequent low-life that tries to insult us. It's caused her tears sometimes but we've grown to ignore it (or report it when it's particularly egregious).
Our game life is sort of an extension of our real life. We live together, work together, cook together, and go on adventures together. Game life doesn't seem to be any different. When we log on we ask what the other has an interest in doing and decide together what we want. Some nights she wants to quest and I'll join. Some nights I have a desire to do a dungeon hard mode. Some nights we both decorate our respective houses. Most nights we both want to go have fun in cyro.
The most important thing for us is that we get to do it together.
