Overdue Character Customization

Just as you wisely created the hair pack and makeup pack that allow us to change the hairstyles and makeup of our characters any time we want, it is now well past time to release the following packs in the same manner.

Eyes and Eyecolors. There's no logical reason not to. Humans should be able to have any color of eye across the human races. Ditto Argonians, Khajiit, Elves. And while it might be impossible to give the human and elvish races Khajiit or Argonain eyes humans should be able to have elvish eyes and elves should be able to have the other elvish eyes and human eyes. Why? Because lore supports this. It is stated that children will always have the same racial appearance as their mother but MAY show some traits of the father. This would actually be a way to do that.

Hair color. Unlock ALL the racial haircolors. Not only is it supported by lore but there's absolutely no logical reason why folk in Tamriel can't dye their hair any darn color they want. But please, if you're going to make obviously dyed hair in outlandish colors... make that its own pack separately from the character creation colors. Sell these in a pack as you did the hairstyles.

Skincolors: Again, no logical reason elves can't have human skin tones or humans have elvish skin tones. And certainly no reason for locked human racial skintones. Let Argonians change their skin if they want. Ditto Khajiit fur!

New makeup, facial scar and facial hair system. This one will be harder but I'm sure you can do it. Especially if you can sell it to us!
Lip color and eye makeup needs to be applied separately. Find a way to split up the base lip and eye makeups so we can mix and match. Give us eyelashes that do NOT remove or change eye makeup or facial hair. If you can't do that, then add a selection of the base game make up WITH eyelashes! Eyelashes need to be useable by male characters and WITHOUT removing facial hair.

Add ALL of the unreleased hairstyles you've been holding out on us as a single hair pack.

Add all of the previously only obtainable via crown crate eyelashes/eye makeup as a single purchasable pack. Ditto the lip colors. These items should have never been in the crown crates and violate your original pledge not to put such things in the crates.

The above will not cause sales of appearance changes to drop because we only use those when we ALSO want to change the face and body of a character. Few people are willing to use those ONLY to change makeup so you're really just cheating yourself by not making the above offerings. If you want our money, and we know you do, give us things we actually WANT to spend it on. My wallet is ready!

Agreed! My Khajiit would like to have beautiful red hair even red fur to match would be cool but at least red hair like the npcs are able to have (looking at you Raz!) More tail options for Khajiit. Tail length, width, tufts, fluffy vs short. I'd like to give mine a lion tail for example or more like a panther (not super long and skinny, have them look more like the senche mount tails.) They look more like monkey tails rather than feline. And maybe tail adornments? I also wish they'd fix how the tail lays while mounted. It sticks straight out behind them, it's really stupid. Also still waiting on green skin tones for Orcs, pointy ears for the Orc female (their ears look weird in this game), and more tusk options. I'd like to make one look closer to how they were in Skyrim. Better muscle definition on all character models as well. More detail. Possibly a better way to create character faces instead of a triangle for a more unique look, but that's probably reaching lol. Separate the facial hair options from blind eye options same way with Bosmer horns. How are horns and blind eyes considered facial hair? Tattoos and markings that don't fade when you're a vampire? Also like it was mentioned before all of the hair, markings, adornments, ect that you bought should ALL be available to you at character creation. The option to dye your hair at the outfit station would be cool...like add a tab for hair like they have for current outfit, costume, and hat.

Yes. My characters want neon green hair, or bright red, neon yellow, so forth. Hair dye packs would be nice, please.
Yes to new eye colors too.

I was actually trying to work out a system of crafting for the hair dyes. Realistically, any hair dye color could be achieved via already in games items; beets for red, cornflower/bugloss for blue, etc.

In the real world I already DO use beets to dye my hair, and lemons make good highlights.

If we turned it into a crafting station of sorts maybe ZoS would be more inclined to consider it (more chapter/dlc sales, more crap for us to grind/farm).

    I'd like to also suggest...

The outfit stations and appearance interface screens should be more like the character log in screen. By that I mean, the great lighting and the ZOOM feature!

I would like the male body models to be upgraded to make it easier to get them looking less potatoey. Unless it's just me it's hard to get buff without the potato look.

Yeah. I'd like to see the things we already have get bettered before anything new gets added. Better proportions, less pointy polygons, better feet etc.

A lot on the list isn't even lore accurate despite the OP saying it.
It is stated that children will always have the same racial appearance as their mother but MAY show some traits of the father
This is not correct. The child will usually be the race of their mother and can show traits of their father but not always. It can also be the opposite, as in taking the father's race. In rarer exceptions there might be more of an even split.
Either way just because your mother was a dunmer and your father an imperial you're not going to be a dunmer with olive brown skin or human eyes. The traits are usually less noticeable than that. Honestly, there's not much lore about crossbreeding besides a very biased book, so we can't tell much about it. But of what we see Elder Scrolls doesn't really have much of the typical half-breeds many other fantasy worlds have. The majority of children will look mainly like one race of their parents.

Adding some more hair and eye colours would be good, because that is supported by lore, we even see it on npcs. But making everyone able to mix eye types and stuff all willy nilly is not.

I'd like the ability to tweak my characters appearance within an hour of creation. It's such a waste of my life spending X amount of time getting a character's appearance right in character creation, only to realize that they look like a mutated potato in the actual game. Delete, and start over...

+ 100% all this! More options and choices are always good.

Also, I'd love to see the awful cycling shorts gone from male Khajiit and Argonians. They just look terrible with costumes like the Nordic bathing towel for example. Everyone else has smaller undies, but for some reason the male beasties get these horrible shorts.

I'm not sure this will ever happen because adding/changing anything in character creation would ultimately change existing characters and I'm sure thousands of people would be upset to log in and find their character's appearance was suddenly different. Some people have invested a lot of time in their character creation, so I can imagine them being very upset if that suddenly changed.

Let us change voice at will because it can take a long while for vocalizations to be presented in gamplay and the few samples we get during character creation rarely match the vocalizations we get over a longer time period in actual game play.
ESPECIALLY considering how we have no indications of which samples relate to which actions in daily gameplay.

Choosing a voice that lasts forever based on a limited number of samples just feels foolish.

    Please.

And when our character's picked voice effects what our team mates hear in Battlegrounds during the call outs. If the samples used those BG callouts it'd greatly effect what voices people pick in my opinion.

I would agree with some of it. It's logical that our characters could change their hair, it grows and would be cut normally... but they wouldn't be able to change their eye or skin colour. In OUR world we can, using contact lenses and the like... but this is a medieval world, they wouldn't have the means to do it (except perhaps magickal means, I suppose).

If you want to change your character's skin or eye colour, you can use a race change token. Just leave the race the same, and then adjust the appearance as you like. I've already done this twice on a couple of characters.

I agree to things that are easy to change being made easy to change. Other things should remain more difficult.

Hard disagree. It’s a game. Forget reasoning, logic, and realism. Especially when it’s just something to do with customization and has zero weight on combat/gear stats/mechanics/etc.

Exactly. Nor do I think any of my suggestions will affect the race change OR appearance token sales. Obviously if you want to change your character's race you're still going to need that token. And the appearance token allows you to change body type and facial features and even the sex of your character should you desire. And I am completely fine with that being the case. Nor am I saying give us all these superficial surface changes for free. Each one of them can and probably even should be marketed as a pack like the hairstyles and makeup are currently.

I'm talking up to 6 packs that would all likely be 1k crowns each. I know I'd buy them all. And I'd purchase crowns to do it. I know I'm not alone. So that works out quite nicely for ZOS.

Why not? They put them in crown crates. Which is pretty much the only reason I've ever bought crates as I give frak all about shiny mounts. So they have value. If there were enough of them they could easily make a good selling pack out of it. ESPECIALLY if they added eyelashes for MALE characters. Divines but I am tired of lashless freaks! LOL

It would be nice if they'd put the lashes/eye makeup in the same pack as the special lipsticks they have put in the crates.

One cool feature they can add is choosing your pronouns. Right now for everything it is “they/them” but it would be cool if you can choose them.

It may mean a re-recording/multiple recordings of the same lines, but it would increase immersion.

I'll confess I hope they don't do a crazy hair colors pack. LOL But since I know it would be popular I figured I'd mention it. I just want it separate from the base game colors pack!
