Northern Elsweyr Dragons Daily: great timewaste

Especially for new players with slower mounts. Each of them must feel very dissapointed trying to reach active (fight is visible on map) dragon hunt ground and see just nothing. And wait 10 minutes for next dragon respawn... and nothing again. Too far from wayshrines.
Wait over half an hour in one location to kill single dragon, where 3 are needed to complete daily?
During Event dragon respawn timer should be better customized to number of players.
Southern Elsweyr is much more friendly to this quest. Dragons spawn more frequent

If I recall correctly southern daily dragons count for dailys on the northern quests so yuo can get both sets of dailies and do them once? Or is that Harrowstorms?

+1. I was excited to finally be able to lead farm again in Northen Elsweyr.

After 3-4 dragons I got bored out of my mind and left. Respawn time is too long when we currently have anything in between 15 to 30 players hunting. Please improve the spawn rates greatly, or make it so a new dragon respawns when one is killed.

Just camp an area where dragons land like everyone else does. I agree, though, about respawn rate. For those of us who were around for the dragon event, we know the drill LOL

Additional note: If player is lucky enough to reach battle before dragon is killed AND is insta-killed by dragon while dismounting, resp in place but AFTER dragon is killed (it happened to me just few minutes ago), gets no count in quest. Why?
    He/she participated in fight...
I can understand no loot from dragon in this case, as player did no damage, but it is frustrating

Right now you need to camp a spot. Even in Southern as I often could not get to the dragon in time from the wayshrine and I have a fast mount.
The northern ones take forever to spawn and are down in 10 seconds. Took me almost 45 minutes to finish my northern dragon quest. Most of that time I was just waiting for one to spawn.

I did it on a level 20-something character with 10 points in mount speed. I didn't try to chase around between the 3 sites because I knew that would be a waste of time, instead I stayed in one of them semi-afk reading the forum and when I saw the dragon appear I'd follow it to it's landing site. Not trying to follow it's course exactly obviously, because that's impossible, but heading in the general direction it was going. I generally got there a bit after it did and each time I managed to do enough damage to get credit.

Just to expand on your point a bit:
Camping an area where dragons spawn doesn't mean a player can't hunt an area 500+ meters around the spawn site, farming nodes, and XP points while hunting NPCs.

I fail to see why any player thinks they are obligated to idly stand in one spot waiting for a respawned dragon to appear.

It's simple to make good use of your time waiting for a dragon, rather than wasting time running from spawn to spawn hoping to get there in time.

this is not a solution for players who want to do all 7 Elsweyr (N and S) daily. If dragons were treated like harrowstorms in Blackreach/The Reach, great

I thought I remembered that would work, but I tested it today and it doesn’t. (I think you’re right that it’s harrowstorms).

true...if that's the case then your only option is pick a spawn spot then get comfy.

Not really arguing- Northern Elsweyr does need two more Wayshrines but...

Even with a slow mount you should have plenty of time to travel to whichever wayshrine is closest and get to the dragons before they die. You have close to a minute from when it spawns to when it lands and starts getting attacked. Just don't bother going if the dragon icon is already flashing- that means it's already being attacked.

And I'm fairly sure northern dragons don't count for southern dailies and vice versa, that only applies to Harrowstorms. But I'll check right now...

I have a fully speedy horse and all the wayshrines and I couldn't possible get to one after it spawned. You HAVE to be there when it spawns if they are going to go down in 20 seconds.

Ideally they would put them on the dolmen timer. Everyone could anticipate which dragon is coming next. If it's not possible to get to the next dragon in time, no problem, just plan to skip one. Or just wait since the others are going to die in under 20 seconds anyway.

This event is a sit and wait super snore if they don't act.

@ZOS_Kevin Do you know if it's possible for them to hotfix the spawn timers on dragons? There's a sort of guarantee for other, equivalent zone events (Dolmens, Geysers, Harrowstorms) where one is guaranteed to be up at all times, but we don't have a similar effect with dragons despite 2/3 of the landing zones being a hefty ride away from any wayshrine. It just seems like a really important QoL fix.

I've said it from the beginning, getting to the dragons is far too difficult because of all the impassable cliffs and mountains. It's horrible trying to get around in that zone (and a few others).

Agreed, was enjoying fighting Dragons for the past week or two before this event, but they took a fun activity and just *** all over it for this event.

Not too happy about Southern Elsweyr DLC being full price still either and instead they made some hot garbage 50% off bundle for Northern Elsweyr that anyone who bought a recent copy of ESO wouldn't be able to use anyway. How stupid.

I just don't understand how it can be so difficult for zos to give these dragons some sort of an hp buff just so the fight can be somewhat enjoyable. I can solo these dragons, and Harrow storms and they are some of the best fights in this game. These events are not fun seeing a dragon get melted In seconds.

I agree with this. I had several dragons die while I was slowly riding to their area. Quite annoying.

I feel with you, yesterday evening I was really so fed up with that daily with the 3 dragons...the spawning time and reachability are a catastrophe and I am wondering why it was changed in the case of the Harrowstorms (from 3 to 1), but here in Elsweyr we still have to kill 3 dragons for the daily?

I said it on release, and I am still saying it - change the quest. It should be more than enough to take down ONE dragon, not hunt around for three. Note how it only takes ONE harrowstorm to get the daily quest done, even though those are easier and more accessible than the dragons, especially in Northern Elsweyr?

This is especially true when there are no events, and there are just a few straglers trying to take down dragons. Not that being two dozen folks at once makes things any better, honestly... all around better with ONE dragon per daily quest.

This won't help you when you've not maxed out your riding speed. You can gain Major Gallop from the first passive of the Assault tree by just doing the Cyrodiil intro quest, and Major Expedition does nothing while mounted.

Yep, the three per quest works fine for anchors, perhaps even geysers in Summerset, but not for dragons.

It's not just for newer players with slower mounts - I'm playing a fully upgraded riding skill toon on an Xbox Series X (so REALLY quick fast travel times, usually under 5 seconds). I chose one of the spawn locations at random and travelled to the closest wayshrine and in the few seconds I'd been travelling a dragon had landed and was already at 30% health by the time I arrived. I managed a couple of light attacks before it died and had a dragon kill under my belt. 1 down, 2 to go for my quest.

Saw a dragon circling last night and stood right next to a nearby wayshrine just to check where and when it landed.

As soon as I saw it enter combat I travel to the wayshrine and... it was already dead.

And this happened multiple times, so I eventually just camped on one of the spawns and waited.

After an hour and 15 minutes and having seen two dragons spawn and get insta-killed (and neither of them at my location), I gave up and did the other dailies instead.

At some point, I'll try and get the last two kills for that quest before the event ends, but after that I'm not even going to bother picking it up again.

    Absolutely pointless exercise, IMO...
