I'm a sociable guy, if someone asks for help in voice chat or another guy or gal is chatting in my group I'll offer to help in the first case or shoot the breeze with them in the second.

What I can't abide - and have no specific control over - is players who think it's cool and kudos earning to play the most awful and abhorrent music thru their mics in local area chat. I compare it to those foolish idiots who think it's equally cool to drive around in their cars with all their windows open and music on full volume to earn kudos, and respect. It earns neither. Onlookers just think, "What a <insert insult here >"

It isn't cool, or smart to do this, it is being a jerk. The music might sound great in their room but is dreadful over voice chat.

So until ZoS implement an option to mute the specific guilty player (why should I have to leave local area chat because someone else is being a jerk) please don't do this. I don't want to hear your awful music deeply offending my eardrums.

I'm pretty sure you can. Since this is a voice chat thing I assume you're on console. Pretty sure you can mute the player through Xbox/Playstation and it'll carry into the game?

Indeed you can. You can choose to ignore the player in game and it will or should silence them. Or like you said, you can block the person's psn. With the rampant bugs on console with voice chat though it may not work currently. Next best thing is to either ignore it or leave the offending voice channel.

Theres no mute option on ps4, all you can do as far as I can see is block them. Not sure if that's working reliably at the moment, I know text chat you're still seeing peoples messages after blocking them.

I don't think most people who are playing background noise in area realize they're doing it or even have a mic plugged in. They're probably using a Kinect (or whatever its called) that has a speaker and they don't realize its mic is turned on.

Btw connect owners your speaker is completely useless so please don't use it. Ever.

it is currently broken, at least on xbox.

You were able to mute or block a player to silence him.

This is a mix of ingame and xbox functionality. You open the players xbox profile menu using an ingame menu (voice chat, members), then in the xbox part you can block/mute.

This actually no longer works, so a player acting as radio station while attacking keeps in cyro can be silenced only by leaving zone voicechat completely. It is terrible if you realize it during a long fight at a keep, where you cannot open the menu if you want to avoid being killed.

This is what baffles me again and again, that suddenly working functionality gets broken. Voice chat now, inventory before.
