So I started my first healer and as I was running through the main quest with him, I got a request to meet with Abnur Tharn and start the quest which I believe leads to the Elsweyr storyline. I was barely 15th level, had not had any interactions with Tharn at that point, and suddenly an Imperial Battlemage of the Elder Council who at that time is still locked away in Coldharbour sorting sole gems, wants to talk to me, to stop the three banners war.

In this case, the timing was just right to start the portion of the main quest where I got to meet and free Tarn, but still that was a huge jolt when it comes to immersion.

We've had a constant stream of complaints about dlc starter quests for years I've never seen anyone from Zeni reply to any of them.

I'd just turn your brain off for a few hours and knock them all out. Otherwise they'll just keep bugging you because you come across them everywhere.

ZOS threw narrative continuity under the bus with One Tamriel.

They throw DLC starter quests at us to drive sales of the Chapters with which they are associated.

Given that ZOS has regularly demonstrated the primacy of profit over players in their estimation, I strongly suspect that we will never see this resolved. Ever.

I truly hope that I am wrong about this. Every year spent in ESO after OT makes me think I am not.

I wish they had a dlc disable feature for these. Some even block vanilla quests.

@ZOS_Kevin Can you or someone else from ZOS acknowledge this and speak to it please?

Admittedly I find Bera Moorsmith (Fighter's Guild) and Adelle Montague (Mage's Guild) far more annoying. Sturga is at least limited to 3 towns...
PAWS (Positively Against Wrip-off Stuff) - Say No to Crown Crates!. Outfit slots not being accountwide is ridiculous given their price. PC EU/PC NA roleplayer and solo PvE quester

I'd just like them to have a different icon do you can tell.

Oh. Haha. When I read the title I read “others” as “other players” and came in here locked and loaded with a strong “HELL NO!” but I do agree that they should redo how their quests work it would make the game more immersive and look like a professional product.

I think story quests (DLC, Chapter) should take advantage of some features the game already has. Block story quests until you 'activate' them in the stories tab of your journal. Add prologue quests to the stories section and keep them blocked until activated by the player. That way, those quests are readily available whenever you want them but not in your way if you are not ready for them.
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

      I like that idea.
Another idea is that they could take and put an option in the settings that forces quests to come only in order.

A friend of mine who recently joined the game was having trouble getting through Rivenspire's storyline and I was pulling my hair out trying to help her solve the problem until I remembered that some prologue quest in journal was blocking vanilla quests.
I don't understand how newcomers should sort it out on their own, given that there is no warning anywhere, even the prologue quest icon does not differ in any way from the usual quest icons. A very, very lame system.
