Leyawiin Furnishing recipes only through stealing?

I've been trying to find the new Leywiin Furnishing recipes and have had virtually no luck, except for a few green ones. I've been buying a few, but especially the purple recipes have prices that go beyond the moon.

So I asked in the guild and was told that they're only available through stealing in Leyawiin and Gideon.

While I do realize that the devs want to make this game interesting and challenging and finding recipes too easily takes away from that, locking the recipes behing a skill that not everyone uses (or wants to use -> see thread on endeavours) seems a bit excessive.

Has anyone had better luck somewhere else (delve, dungeon?), or am I consigned to contine fruitlessly scrabbling in other people's underwear drawers?

Eventually, some will be available from the DLC random boxes on the Crafter Voucher Vendor

Picked up the purple Grand bookcase in a night stand in Leyawin, in a house you do as part of the story quest and not marked as stealing

You could assume that but it’s not true.

I make my gold farming and selling furnishing plans and have since Elsweyr. I am online for up to 10 hours per day and spend a good chunk of that time doing nothing but just opening containers.

Could it be that those here having the same low drop rate for plans as I am are also on console?

Nope. PC.

On the other hand, I can't afford to do 10 hours ingame. There's this pesky thing called life that tends to interfere... ^^;;

yep. this. another thing that they pushed over the limit so i stopped caring. i wait for the envelopes and if they dont come... well... who cares. i was up to 100% completion on all receipts/blueprints before skyrim. the more than 100 new ones came out and just thought "wtf i dont wanna restart this every dlc" i couple are ok, i just buy them now but so much new ones turned up to the opposite for me, now i dont care at all any more. well, one thing less to do.

again.... not much left soon...

I am fortunate to be at a stage in life where I can spend large amounts of time doing this. It’s frustrating to get nothing to show for it day after day, though.

Elsweyr was a good drop rate, though. I was able to farm and sell duplicates and buy the ones I didn’t have and still make some gold. I was able to furnish Potentates with my own crafted furniture. It’s been downhill since then. My Markarth house is still missing a bunch of purple plans because I can’t get them farming and the guild prices are in the millions.

Blackwood is even worse. Still not a single purple plan and only a few blues.

I have been there but saw few contaIners. I have already completed the quest but probably won’t grind out 50 runebox pieces there.

Yes, but the point of farming for hours each day is to get at least some of the plans myself without having to buy them.

As it is now, I only have a few more than having done nothing at all.

[snip] I'm not farming & I got another 4 blues today. When I was farming that first week I got easily 20+ blues & 5 purples only farming 30 minutes a day

No I’m not trolling.

I specified I have a lot of time to farm and I’m not finding much. Mostly blue plans from Markarth that I am still farming and I get less than 10k each for at this point.

I have no Leyawiin blues or purple yet to sell and make gold.

I tried stealing all over Leyawiin with my thief char, in the castle, in the guards tower (stole the super duper secret chest thingy.. just because), robbed all the citizens and the insides of their houses, robbed every guard patrolling the streets of the entire contents of their pockets, and...

It was a complete waste of time.

Played a newbie character on day 1 of the chapter and found some purple furnishings in the furniture/backpacks at the end of the Bastian quest.

I'm gonna go with, stealing is not the way.

I've stolen plenty of Leyawiin furnishing plans, including purples. I even got lucky and triggered the Homeowner passive on a pair of purples from an owned nightstand.

I've only stolen greens, my blues have come from bacpacks and the other day I got 2 really rare purples out of one.

That's my luck for the year lol

So just what is it that gives some players such incredible luck at getting new plans and others of us who are GMC on one toon and almost on another such poor luck?

I’d like to know.

I still get mostly food from the manor in Leywiin.
