Anyway To Remove The Transparent Effect Of Hurricane / Boundless Storm?

I am considering a return to ESO, but I am really struggling to not get annoyed by the skill Hurricane. I have a cool outfit I bought, and Hurricane as a stamsorc is 100% uptime as many here know. Is there anything I can do to remove the transparent effect? I dislike turning into a wind ghost while in combat, and it is required for the class so I am constantly see through which is annoying. Cant it just have the storm happen without the ghostly effect? I want to like the class but it is difficult with that skill, any costumes, skins, addons, etc that can deal with this?

As a once-DK main. I know your pain. Sadly there is nothing you can do about it.

There are builds that don't require it. I use it for all regular combat in dungeons, but there are plenty of times you can see your character without it while running around questing and crafting. Give it a try, maybe you'll come to tolerate it or even like it after awhile.

The game will turn it off during certain conditions like if you're fighting at a crowded Dolmen, the game turns off the transparency much to my dismay. It might be something in the particle count if it exceeds the value set then it may be one of the first things that go.

No one's gonna see your outfit while you're running around fighting anyway.

Pick another class then or simply do not use hurricane. That way you can see your outfit....

I like the effect of hurricane. It has always been a stamsorc trademark and has some nice uses~

Hurricane turning you semi invisible is actually a tactical advantage because it hides your animation and set visual effects. This makes it harder for your opponent to see what you are doing. I wouldn’t ask for its removal just because you want to look cool.

This may sound sarcastic but I ask with genuine confusion. You all stare at yourselves while in combat? As in, you start a fight with a boss and then just…. Stare at your character? Am I missing a key piece of information here that I can’t figure out?

Yes, some people prefer seeing their character and animations when they're playing it.

Also personally hurricane makes me lose some moments when I misweave or not exactly sure if I actually casted ability in a crowded and/or laggy situations, I would like an option to somehow always replicate a condition when it's up but character isn't transparent, but only on my screen obv because pvp exists.

There are many subtle cues that are displayed through visual effects and animations. What buffs and debuffs are active. Weather or not you are stunned, stuck in a trap, if that cast-time skill you used is actually working or not. When you character is semi-transparent like this it makes it very difficult to pick up on many of these cues. Personally, between the DK and the sorc I think the sorc has it worse in most cases though.

How very strange. I tend to look at everything but my character, save for peripheral glances for the buffs/debuffs and to make sure I’m on the right bar when skills decide they want to take a break and not fire off. This now makes sense. Interesting.

I would also prefer if hurricane did not turn your whole character transparent blue.

Nooo, I love this effect! If they want to give you something to change that then fine but the effect visual MUST NOT BE TOUCHED!

ZOS if you looking to eliminate things that cause server lag, hurricanes visual effect should be one of the first to go!

    Been asking for years.
Stamsorc is unplayable to me because of this, which is why I turned mine into a werewolf lol.

This is exactly why these effects are so troublesome. We aren't looking directly at our character. We're looking peripherally. When they are invisible like this it makes it basically impossible to visually parse without directing attention away from other things. And when you get into huge fights with lots of effects even looking directly becomes useless.

You also mentioned another thing. Checking which bar we are on at a glance. I don't want to look all the way at the bottom at my skillbar. I'd rather just peripherally see what weapon my character is holding. This wouldn't be anywhere near the issue that it is if we could actually trust that barswapping worked though.

The visual effect has zero effect on server performance. Graphics are rendered on the client.

I have a stamsorc werewolf that I put Chudan on. I ditched Hurricane because it became redundant. I think Chudan is your answer.

I've mained a stamsorc for 5 plus years. It doesn't really bother me, no ones really looking at me while I'm fighting anyway.

Agreed. And I especially love the huge target the storm creates when I'm on my cold fire siege. Players without effects can be hard to see or even invisible at range, but stamsorcs are easy to focus.
