If you buy a house with a body of water can you build out on the water. Say you want a floating dock in the middle of the lake. Is that possible?

✭Yes there are lots of materials available for this. Have a look at StabbityDoom and JHartEllis. They have both Twitch and YouTube pages with videos of tons of homes.
From the top of my head there is a floating platform with barrels, there are posts with barnacles and lots of platforms so it should be ok to do.
Also the site below is good for seeing what is available

I'm eyeing Potentate's Retreat but it's so expensive. I'd like to put that huge dragon I bought in the middle of the water as a focal point. Just don't know if it's possible. If not, that area is so big I could easily find another place for her.0 -

✭✭✭Yes, Hundings, Potentates moreso in the middle, Tel galen, grand psijic, grand topal... to varying degrees.
If you have hall of the lunar champion and build down to the water in the halls of colossus, that could be free (although not a lot of space)
or just use antiquarian on the lake1 -

✭✭✭✭✭Use a table bridge to see how far you can go before reaching the invisible wall then create a boundary with them so you get an idea how much space there is to play with, you can take them out later once your floor plan is complete.1 -

✭✭✭Yes you may build useable structures over water assuming the water is within the boundaries.
I made use of slaughterfish at Hundings by building a path to the slaughterfish. The path dipped into the fish. I used that damaging spot to test various builds for my healplar. (This was before slaughterfish were buffed.) The tests were limited but helpful in the narrow scope of what I was able to test.Fan of playing magblade since 2015. (PC NA)
