The zone with the worst Dolmen placements

Doing the fighter's guild daily for the very first time in 5 years, never realized how bs some of the dolmen placements are....which zone is the worst for you?

For me? Glenumbra hands down. What were they thinking? All three were a pain to get to.

Greenshade is a close second, imagine having to swim 5 minutes just to get to a dolmen....

At least you can see the Bangkorai central anchor from the other two, the north can see a faint glow through the haze, so you know when it becomes active and explodes.

As long as I can reach two of them near a wayshrine, I'll do that daily.

I don't think ZOS planned to create quests that would send people to all three dolmens, so I don't think they thought about 'distance' when placing them. I think they expected people might complete them once and never again, so their location really was an afterthought at the time of game creation. However, it would be nice if ZOS removed Greenshade and Glenumbra from the daily guild quests so people aren't forced to spend more than twice as long to complete them.

All of those have problems. At one point I would have had Stonefalls, until I found out about the shortcut to the Southern one.

They have made changes in the past, Grahtwood for example the southern Anchor used to be a sheer cliff to its closest wayshrine so people who ported there still couldn't reach it. Later on they changed it from a long cliff drop to an actual path so you can actually go up to it.

The middle one is often taken by players who farm world bosses, which makes that one far less of an issue compared to whatever the hell is glenumbra. Also, the other 2 dolmens have perfectly acceptable wayshrines nearby.

For me it was a coin toss between Alcaire in Stormhaven and Drowned Coast in Greenshade to take the crown of the most inconveniently placed dolmen.

However as far as the whole area goes Stormhaven takes the biscuit. At least in Greenshade you get Green's Marrow relatively close to a Wayshrine and without the need of swimming.

Daenia in Glenumbra is also in the AEoN but one can somewhat get around it with access to the harborage depending on what alliance the character did the main quest with or by owning Daggerfall Overlook.

Given that they chose to make Fighter's Guild quests the best way to build rapport with Mirri this shouldn't be unexpected. Nobody cared about those quests before this.

I wish they'd change them to make it easy to tell which one goes off next. I don't feel like memorizing 14 rotations to guess if next one is clockwise or counterclockwise.

Wish it was possible to vote for more than one because for me it's a tie between Glenumbra's King's Guard Dolmen and Greenshade's Drowned Coast Dolmen.
Edit: the thing about these two Dolmens is that when am there I feel so cut off from the rest of the zone. And yet for some reason I never feel this isolation when I am at Malabah Tor's Broken Coast Dolmen, an equally out of the way Dolmen.

Glenumbra takes it for me, slightly edging Greenshade because Greenshade has at least one dolmen near a wayshrine. Glenumbra? "Run through these fields of adds to get to the dolmen before it explodes. Good luck."

All of these are completely and utterly terrible and make for a very painful daily. Usually you want to do dailies as quickly as you can, but with these zones, you either have to do two of the three and just hope someone else is doing the third or travel a preposterous distance and hope you don't JUST miss the thing, making your travel time a complete waste.

My personal vote is for Malabal Tor, because you have to go off a freakin' cliff to get to it.

Beyond that: I actually did run these dailies from time to time. When no one else was doing them, they were fine, because your chances of a five-plus-minute horse ride, potentially fatal cliff jump, and/or long swim only to JUST miss the dolmen were slim. Now, it's practically guaranteed.

I find every zone easy enough for the FG daily since I just go to the 'best' one and camp it for 3 cycles. Average dolmen respawn time is 9 minutes though I've seen it range from extremes of 6 to 12 minutes. The only zone I don't like for FG dailies is A'likr because the dolmens are so loaded with players.

I wondered about that... because when I first started playing years ago, I thought that it was impossible to reach that dolmen from the Greymire Wayshrine and you had to go the long way around (or start from Elden Root)... now I know I wasn't losing it.

Iirc Dolmens don't "respawn", they go on a rotation.

So dolmen 2 only becomes active when dolmen 1 goes down, and dolmen 3 only becomes active when dolmen 2 goes down, etc. This is how Alik'r farming works.

Meaning that when you do Greenshade dolmens, unless someone swims for 5 minutes and go do the broken coast dolmen, the other 2 will never spawn....

I'm pretty sure a dolmen will despawn if no one comes and does it. The crowd of NPC summoners will spawn in and then gradually despawn. I've come across some dolmens with only two left, though I never thought to try and camp out to see the dolmen despawn, so I could be mistaken. Such a mechanic makes low pop zones still have activities if you are just running by and see a dolmen pop up rather than it being stuck on a spawn that is difficult to access.

    Edit: Typo

Most of these have at least one that's near a way shrine. So you go after the farthest one, then port to a closer one. But freakin' Stormhaven, it's like you're close enough to see it go up, but not to make it there in time. I finally decided to just stay put at each one and wait for them to start up again.

Two of the three in Reaper's March are kind of out of the way.

There is one that I hate because I always take a route that leaves me below the dolman wondering if I have time to run all the way back around but don't recall the zone off the top of my head.

I don't mind going some distance to get to them but always going the wrong way through a maze of invisible walls gets old.

Only recently got a new Xbox and not done it since

But on the old Xbox it probably wasn't worth the 40 second load screen lol.
