Would you like to see Dwarven Engineering added as a profession?

What do you all think? I'm not suggesting motorcycles or anything, but there is a ton of potential here, I think.

Dwarven engineering is tonal engineering, went completely lost with their race.
Without it we can't even reproduce the correct allotropic structure they used
that's why it's so damned LIDL and inferior to most of the other metals.

We need a portal to open up and dwarves come flooding back into the world.

    I need a dwarf char.

I need an emote that shouts "yeehaw!" every time I dive and roll toward an enemy.
I need a racial "head nuts" attack (head butt to the crotch".
I need a reason for a macro that screams out "how you like that! you long-legged freak!" when I do the cc attack of Achilles tendon cut or knee cap crack.

I need a emote that mutters "what a bunch of weirdos. Make their homes and shops out of piled up rocks and sticks." whenever I'm wandering around a town.

But mostly, need this playing in all the dwarven taverns:

I think it's a shame that they won't let ZoS explore the Dwemer. I also feel like they should take a break from tamriel, and the next expansion should introduce a zone in Akavir. Make it an end game zone since the land is supposed to be overran with demons and stuff. Think that would be fun.

How about we do not sacrifice the lore on the altar of generic fantasies? Tonal magic and bringing animunculi to life was the thing that made dwemer the superior race. They disappeared and that is one of the major things making dwemer fascinating.
Only non-dwemer we know to be able to create more animunculi was Sotha Sil and that guy is considered to be a god. Not like the minor daedra we vestiges are.

The Elder Scrolls universe is a different thing from other fantasy universes like Warcraft or Middle Earth. And it is a good thing, let's keep it that way.

I'm with most others - I think the dwemer work best as a lost species - their tech and race ideally never really answered, only hinted at - and I would pay real money, like crown-store-crate-zos-wet-dream money to keep quasi-steampunk-magi-tech out of ESO. That kinda crap is the one of the big reasons why I don't go back to WOW or Guildwars 2, otherwise moderately fun games, but the magi-tech...I just hate it so...

No but for a different reason.
The current professions in the game are already quite useless. Adding another useless profession would be pointless.

There should be a third option: Hell no!

All throughout the Elder Scrolls games, including ESO, the lore says the Dwemer disappeared for reasons that are still debated. There has been only one Dwemer in the entire series if I recall. There is no justification for introducing them as a playable race here beyond "Becuz I wants it".

would prefer the lost dwarves returned from the plane they vanished to or whatever they want to make up cause, well, its all make believe in the first place. isn't this the era where there's very little known? so even lore wise it would be easy enough to pull off at the very least a class of that theme if not the actual race. i'm sure some people would still have a seizure though half the people claiming lore just hate dwarves in the first place.

Surely you realize that there are no "dwarves" in Elder Scrolls, there never has been, and there never will be. Not the nordic flavored belligerent drunken axe maniacs who bear never ending grudges that generic fantasy dwarves are. (And who all speak with Scottish accents for some unfathomable reason.)

Dwemer, the "dwarves" of Elder Scrolls are elves, and just as tall as any other elf. Legends say that they were named dwarves by giants, compared to who, they are indeed "short." And none of that stereotypical dwarven behavior for the dwemer, they were analytical, logical, cruel and isolationist technocrats interested in esoteric magicks. They frankly remind me more of Vulcans than any fantasy trope based dwarf. Besides, the visual style of the Dwemer is more akin to ancient Babylonian or Assyrian aesthetics,

So while you might prefer that ESO has typical fantasy dwarves, you'll never get them in this game, because they've never existed in the first place.

I say yes simply because I would like dwemer minions or pets to fight for me. We have dwemer mounts, armor, weapons, pets, and even monster helms that allows us to summon temporary ones to heal us in battle. So there technically isn’t a lore reason against it now since we can already to an extent do so in game currently.

I was thinking a tinkerer class or skill line would be a good idea. There are already mages and other people who study them in the game universe so it isn’t to far fetched an idea. And it’s not like they have to go into detail about the dwemer themselves. Just the tools they used to create their constructs. They don’t have to even be perfect constructs seeing as how their methods of creating them died off with the dwemer. But mimicking them should at least be possible in game lore wise.

Elder Scrolls Dwemer =/= Tolkien-esque/generic fantasy dwarves

ESO is part of the Elder Scrolls universe which has an established lore. Although ESO has "bent" the lore on occasion (to put it politely), bringing back the Dwemer or introducing generic fantasy dwarf tropes would be a bridge too far.

The day I start seeing a bunch of Torbjorns running around Tamriel is the day I finally close the ESO chapter of my life.

Motorcylemancy sounds like an awesome skill line.

Seriously though. The charm of the Dwemer is the mystique. Having an answered question is healthy for the lore and setting. I don't think anything other than new weapon lines would be good at this point, but that's just me.
