It's pretty wild to me that the only way a vamp can feed is if they crouch and get into a specific distance from their target. Why not make it a lot more versatile by allowing vampires a special stealth animation or attack that can be activated when running with unnatural movement? It'd make utilizing the feeding mid-combat more viable instead of being just an engagement move.
AND not to mention they could add use the npc's blood-drain + lift up target animation for player-based feeding. Say, in PvP if you wanted to feed on someone utilizing the vampire's stealth. It'd play that animation and give the target a special debuff that doesnt let them get fed on by ANY vamp for X amount of seconds. While yes it'd lock the target into a CC, it'd also lock the vampire into one as well. Not to mention you have to be stealthed and a certain distance away from the target in order for it to work. So, a hard 2-3 second CC wouldn't be too bad. It also wouldn't deal a lot of damage to the player, it'd mainly just restore a lot of HP to the vamp vs dealing a ton of dmg.
Of course, the solution if this is considered too OP would be to make it breakable but to do such it'd take a lot of stamina. You're being fed on by a vampire, it should be hard to break out of.
Anyways, I think this would be an easy to implement quality of life thing for vampires since it utilizes mechanics that are already there. If anything, they might need to create a new special animation for an in-combat feed when it comes to NPCs. But even then they could just use the same lift-and-drain or a leap-animation.
Oh, and if they go with the whole 'leaping' thing for the feeding from running while in stealth, it'd give vampires a MUCH needed gapcloser which would be kind of cool.
Im curious as to what people would think about allowing vampires to use their feeding mechanics in a more versatile way.
