Invisible wall in Blackwood while trying to go east

I was trying to go east to get to the excavation dig site and I ran into a invisible wall.

Is this on purpose or by design? If it is, it is not done very well.

✭✭I haven't ran into that yet (pardon the pun). What I've seen is running from the frog boss to the nearest wayshrine the screen glitches and im reset about 10 seconds back towards the boss again. It's happened a few times now.1
