We currently have the golden vendor in cyrodill every week that sell monster set and either rings or necklace depending on the week
Would you like to see a similar vendor but for weapon? It doent need to be golded weaponry, it could be green if that increase our chance to get it
It could be explainded that the new vendor is the golden apprentice and that he is still green as a merchant?

How i see it
Week one: magical weaponry
One of each staff: fire, frost, storm and resto

Week 2: 1 handed
1 of each: sword, axe, mace and dagger
1 shield

Week 3: 2 handed
1 of each, greatsword, battle axe and maul

What do you think?

Sounds decent to me. There is a difference in the function though. The golden vendor allows you to buy jewelry, which is relatively common, but at an enhanced gold quality, which is typically very expensive to upgrade. A weapon vendor would sell the weapon, which is relatively rare, but the upgrade cost to gold is not the appeal in this case.

It would be a very slow way to acquire hard to find dungeon weapons that RNG has kept out of your reach. Just like the current vendor, 98% of the items offered would be of little interest to people as they would either already have them, not care about them or be able to purchase them if they are bind on equip.

I think it would be a step in the right direction, but would be a poor replacement for what could be a more robust token system if ZOS wants to decrease the weapon grind. The appeal of gold weapons just isn't the same as gold jewelry due to the cost difference. The weapons could be white quality and would hold the same value to most people for stickerbook purposes.

Sure. Though if the jewellery piece is the same set as the weapon, I think you should only be allowed to buy one or the other.

Personally, I'd have the jewelry different from the weapons to give more of a variation. Especially if you run multiple characters.

But I also agree with Red up there. A step in the right direction, but a poor replacement for what could be a better token system.

There is to much sets and weapon types to make it right.

Plus, overland & pvp sets are rather easy to collect, especially with help of guild traders. So it could work only for dungeon & trial sets.

But imho, it would be far better to make a system of tokens, which will give players an option to buy a desired weapon. Lets say 1 token per normal, 2 per vet, 3 per hardmode & weapon for 10 tokens .

And no, Undaunted Coffers won't do, cause there is to much types of weapons.

If it would sell the hard-to-farm weapons, sure. But as its hit-or-miss for what is there now, I don't see it working out. For instance, a Tzvogin's gold ring was selling one week and Treasure Hunter another. Make those into their respective stamina/magicka weapons and its about the same usefulness.

While I appreciate the convenience of a token system, here's the problem. What if you don't like PvE? I don't want to farm tokens when I can just wait and hope my item shows up in the vendor then buy it with the surplus of AP I have.
If both options co-existed then that's something I could get on board with, or allow me to trade in large amounts of AP for a token.

I mean, I'm okay with anything that allows us to buy our gear directly instead of having to rely on the ridiculous RNG.

But I still want to see more variety as it is on the Golden vendor. I have seen certain sets pop up 2 or 3 times before other sets appear even once. I'm still waiting on some gold Grave Guardian rings to show up.

This would be incredible, yeah. I love running dungeons, but at the end of the day it's not realistic to assume that you can fill out your stickerbook by doing so, and completionism is a really strong driving force for a lot of players. If we had a golden vendor equivalent for weapons, which are consistently the hardest parts of a stickerbook to fill out, then I think it would re-invigorate all aspects of play, even, paradoxically, the dungeon/overland/etc. farming that is normally required to get said weapons. Nothing motivates someone to farm something up themselves like missing a golden vendor sale and seeing it listed for 2 million on guild traders.

If it had a chance to be a dungeon or dungeon dlc weapon ? Sure.

Sure, this is a great idea. I wouldn't say it would be a replacement for farming the gear yourself, but it might be a nice perk, provide another gold sink, and you may get lucky and land that one elusive item .
