According to Paul Sage, they have discussed the ability to craft jewelry in future content; http://tamrielfoundry.com/topic/live-crafting-qa-with-paul-sage-march-7th/

I would like to share my hopes for Jewelcrafting. As with other crafting professions, it is necessary to extract raw materials into craftable ingredients. Gemstones are required and are extracted from ore. Once gemstones have been extracted, the player may craft circlets, rings, necklaces, and amulets. There are seven levels of gemstone quality, namely Normal, Fine, Flawless, Perfect, Radiant, Illustrious, and Exquisite. Gemstones bought from vendors will always be Normal quality. That quality can be increased with polishing. Polishing is synonymous with Tempers from Blacksmithing. Gemstone cuts are synonymous with Traits. Players will need to spend a great deal of time to research different gemstone cuts for each respective gemstone. Here are the possible choices when crafting jewelry…

Craft Jewelry:
Jewelcrafting Station

Base Item:
Circlet
Ring
Necklace
Amulet

Gemstone:
Citrine
Opal
Jade
Amethyst
Aquamarine
Topaz
Sapphire
Emerald

Diamond

Gemstone Quality:
Normal (Default)
Fine
Flawless
Perfect
Radiant
Illustrious
Exquisite

Gemstone Cut:
Round – Increase Stamina

Marquise – Increase Armor and Spell Resistance
Pear – Increase Armor and Spell Penetration
Heart – Increase Health
Emerald – Increase Weapon Enchantment Effect
Princess – Increase Monster Experience
Trillium – Increase Weapon Critical
Radiant – Increase Magicka
Cushion – Increase Spell Critical

Here are the possible gemstone cuts;

nice coverage of the concept! I am in support of jewelcrafting...if for any reason we need a way to deconstruct the stuff we find in the environment...and to find a use for all those enchantments! can't tell you how many jewelry enchantments i've decon'ned only because the stuff we get from quest is almost always better. and of course all the coolest enchantments are for jewelry only...

    looking forward to it's inception.

Also the mats could be sold for huge amounts. They will get it back in eventually.

I just want to be able to improve the jewelry I got that has the warlock set bonus and make them yellow. The rest is just added bonus.

A few jewellery shops would help, I know there are some in the game, but a few in low level cities would help a lot.

I really hope this is already designed and in production.

Have an "awesome" for the effort!

Other than the fact most of those Gems mentioned are already being used to add traits to items, I love the idea and have been hoping to see it return.

Get past the early beta version issues, and the possible "High" demand for the gems, it would be nice to have.

I'd love it if we could use our Trait gems for other purposes. That'd be a neat synergy between crafting skills.
