Soo, what is this "Well Fed" active effect?

I've been meaning to ask this question for as long as I can remember.
So basically, the Well Fed effect is up whenever I consume a drink and lasts about the same time as the duration of the drink. In my case, I consumed a stam&mag regen drink and there were 2 identical "Well Fed" status.

I think for the most part, the existence of the effect is redundant in combat but I can't for the life of me, let this curiosity go away without asking first.
So what does the active effect actually do? Is it merely a RP function?
