Sustain Issues

Recently, while parsing, myself and a few friends have noticed odd things with our sustain. Some parses we will end with 90% of our magicka, others only 10%. It is almost like random parses we forget to use recovery food, but it isn't that. So far we have seen this on magicka sorcerer and magicka nightblade. Has anyone else noticed this, or is there a confirmed bug? We are all on PS5 NA.

I have the same issue on PC. Not sure what’s causing the issue, but my suspicions lean toward buffs not working as intended or stopping for some reason. I’ve also seen weird instances in dungeons where my DPS will drop substantially (like 20k+) for no apparent reason. I’ll be averaging 40-50k on enemies and then I’m suddenly way lower and it’s impossible to bring back up. There have been claims from others that set bonuses have stopped working in the middle of content, so my guess is this might be something similar.

There was a bug where set bonuses of certain sets stopped working after you changed instances. This was reportedly fixed according to the patch notes for the last incremental on PC/Mac, so it should not still be occurring there. Consoles have not had their corresponding incremental yet. Perhaps the fix will make it into Tuesday’s patch.

There were also several reports on the PTS of food/drink buffs falling off before they should have expired, including specifically ones that are frequently used for resource recovery. I’m not sure if that issue was ever addressed.

I’m pretty sure it is still happening to me. Just a few minutes ago I had an issue where my max magicka was oddly low. I unequipped and re-equipped my gear a few times and the normal values returned.

I would report that as a /bug in game, as that’s apparently the devs’ preferred method of receiving reports. This is the first I’ve heard that the set bonus bug wasn’t resolved. Hopefully they can figure out what else needs to be fixed there. The patch notes were clear that the devs believed the bug only affected certain sets, so I’d definitely include the specific sets you’re seeing it with now in case they missed something.

Similar issue: On my mag blade with sustain food I’ve noticed that I’m strangely running out of magicka. I have over 2k recovery and leeching strikes running. Last patch I could barely draw down resources with this setup.

This is the thread about the recovery food issue identified on the PTS:

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/573907/bug-food-recovery-bug#latest

There was a player claiming it happened with mag food (Ghastly Eye Bowl) as well as with stam. ZOS acknowledged the issue on May 17, but I don’t recall if it was ever said to have been fixed. There were only two foods mentioned specifically in that thread, but if it’s happening to two it could well have been happening to more.

A max magicka issue might also be related to that, as a buff like Ghastly provides both max magicka and magicka recovery. You would need to look at how much magicka is missing to figure out whether it’s a food or set bonus failing.
