Final area for Elden Hollow I - Fall into the earth?

I ran Elden Hollow I (normal) on my leveling character yesterday and the ground became muck that killed me multiple times before I could get out. Someone else couldn't talk to the quest step for the same reason.

Has anyone else seen this? Is it a new approach or a mistake? I am really hoping the latter...!

It happens if someone is on the dungeon quest, the NPCs open a shiny portal you need to click to get out or die horribly. When no one is on the quest this event doesn't happen, at least from what I remember.

The problem with the floor happened when I first went in. I was a bit slow and they had attacked the boss, but it was not the "get out of here now" problem at the end of the quest. I rezzed a couple of times (after a wipe and after the boss died) and I still ended up in the floor, like it was quicksand....

This should not be under "combat mechanics"!

This is a new issue in the dungeon, not how to handle what exists!

Can the mods be a bit less quick to move things?

The description sounds like what is supposed to happen. There appears a shining portal to use (not the dark one!). After using the portal, you can hand in the quest. If you don't use the portal, you will sink into the ground and be devoured. If you die, just ressurect at the Wayshrine...

That's normal for that final boss fight. The ground "opens" and skeletons crawl out of the hole. If you are in it or really close to it it pulls you in. It's always been that way.

Are you talking about during the final boss fight, or afterwards?

One of the Canonreeve's abilities is a ground AOE that, if you don't get out in time, sucks you into the ground. You can break free to escape from being rooted.

If not, and you think it is a new bug, then please be more specific about where this happened in the dungeon and how it differs from what normally happens.

I have run this dungeon many times on the PS4 and never once fell into the ground before/during the boss fight.

This one drew me into the ground when I got there and I couldn't move or do anything to get out and thus died before I could even interact with the fight.

I have NEVER seen this in the 20+ times I have run this on the PS4.

I have died more than a few times after the final boss died and dislike the "you have to click on the quest step lady" mechanic in a very narrow window, but that is a different issue.

I ran Elden Hollow solo yesterday (non Vet), but for the first time with my companion.

I got caught int he pit twice, but never died, eventually I get out...but I found break free did not work.

Usually there is enough time to run around the boss so it appears behind you, or dodge roll away before it gets cast.

    Keep movin'

Companion uses a bow and never got close enough to get sucked in

Good luck - let us know when you conquer it!

Is this the way it was in the past and I somehow missed it? Is it different on the PC? I NEVER fell into the ground on the PS4.
