The set has nice stats but its pretty underwhelming for a pvp set, 4000 resistance is sure nice for a 1 piece but reducing block mitigation to 0% is too much, maybe rework it to be 20%-50% of block mitigation. The health recovery is also underwhelming because health recovery is basically useless in pvp now due to health recovery being reduced by 50% (nobody uses health recovery builds anymore). Block mitigation is just almost too important to get rid of.

I use this on a couple of builds. I think it's in a good place👍 allowing block mitigation back makes it OP.

I agree, I want to use it on some builds, not all, which puts it in a decent spot imho.
Also having some hp recovery still isn't that bad, the hp and the resist this item gives makes it already worth it anyway.

The set combines the 5 piece bonuses of plague doctor, fortified brass and beekeeper in one, no other set is worth 3 others. Its still meta on magsorc and stamblade.

    There's blocking in this game?
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

I too think this set is in the right place. After quite intensive testing both in Cyrodiil and IC I think that this set, despite its limitations, works well, although it does not surpass what I was able to achieve with Ring of the Pale Order or Malacath. If we want to talk about buffing this set, we should rather go in the direction of slightly increasing the stats it offers than decreasing the penalty.
I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

ZOS, please don't nerf Gaze of Sithis just because it's not good for PVP. Or at all, for that matter. (Wishful thinking, I know.) I've found a PVE sorc build that utilises GoS and I'd like to actually get to try it out - assuming I can find a group that can actually get through CoS.

I used it for a week. It is not as powerful as I thought. And now block cost is getting fixed, I decide to keep it in my bag.

If you look at all new mythics, all of them are pretty "meh" tbh. Just compare them to the old ones.
Snow Treaders, Ring of the Pale Order, Ring of the Wild Hunt, Malacath's Band of Brutality... all of those offer something unique, that you can not get anywhere else. That is what makes those mythic items good and worth using.

Gaze of Sithis does not offer anything unique. It is just raw stats buff with a penalty. This set was meant to provide huge dmg mitigation buff, but at the price of not being able to block dmg, you can only block status effects. Original value on pts was 10K Armour, which may seem like a lot, but it is on pair with brutality ring. Malacath ring buffs your dmg by 16%, and 10K armour reduces dmg taken by around 15 - 16%. Additionally, Gaze of Sithis is a helmet, so you can not use Monster set with it.

With 4K armour, I can basically use some jewellery glyphs to achieve similar results and still be able to keep my block mitigation (50 or 60%, I don't remember exactly).

Besides, in PvP Wild Hunt Ring actually provides more dmg mitigation than Gaze. It is far better to move away and not to take dmg in a 1st place vs absorb less dmg.

If something should be changed about Gaze of Sithis - it should be armour. 4K is just too low for the penalty you get. 7K imho would move this mythic from "why would I use this set ?" category, to "I know in what niche build I can use it" category.

Also, health recovery stat this set provides is just umm... kind a "dead weight". It does not contribute to anything and it is just taking away this set power budget. Health recovery is "meh" in PvE and in PvP it was reduced to meaningless.

To be clear -- does Sithis prevent you from blocking, as it says it does, or does it just reduce your block mitigation to zero?

This distinction matters for various kinds of mechanics.

You can block and blocking - where applicable - will prevent CC as usual.

There will however not be any damage mitigation.

You can still use the psijic order passive to put a shield up while bracing though (if the conditions for the passive are met of course, master of the obvious moment.)

Agree with almost everything you said.

Originally the item was pretty good. But everyone went nuts, and as usual it got nerfed into oblivion. It's too weak at the moment, and I agree with the OP. It needs a buff and PvP on this game needs to stop catering to the tiny few who want everyone to drop like flies.
