Are bosses in the Deadlands public dungeon not supposed to drop items?

I'm getting trash from 500k health bosses, I've killed 3 so far and no set peices have dropped from this.

I don't think so. The Deadlands are a replacement for Incursions, and the trash mobs in those don't generally drop anything.

It’s weird. All the work they put into making these portals, yet they go out of their way to disincentive people from actually doing them.

I see a portal, I just ride on by.

Although the Deadlands is described as a "Public Dungeon," I'm not sure if it's actually classified as such for drops purposes-- although I'm pretty sure I've gotten set pieces from the final boss at least, IIRC.

They (final boss) do drop a lead for Mythics.

Deadlands feels so full of potential, but not reaching it. I hope this isn't the final version of it. I remember dragons got some updates that made them f'ing amazing to fight.

I believe the Public Dungeon moniker reflects that it’s large numbered instanced versus delves and regular dungeons.

That said I’d like if randomly opened paths led to more quests and hidden secrets. That would disincentivize people from just sitting at the end to repeat the final enemy.

Speaking of having multiple final enemies would also be appreciated. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by harrowstorms and geysers though.

If people couldn't sit at the end and farm all day it would be more hype.

Should kick everyone out after a bit and have us need to find a new entrance.

The only loot available from the actual enemies is gold.

The actual loot you get from clearing the deadlands portal is in a chest at the end. Thats it.

There is a second boss you can kill for a loot chest. If you activate all the flame behemoths in that hall by running past them, then kill them all, a boss will spawn that gives another chest when defeated. Plus an achievement, if you haven't done it yet.

    They're so underwhelming.

The only thing they drop which is any good are furniture patterns.

Either because you want to seel them or you're into housing.

But prices will drop very quickly so there will be no point doing them.

You have to find a portal, run through or kill a bunch of trash that drops nothing, then get to the end where you might have to wait for 5 minutes. For them to drop a neck in a fairly rubbish set.

These will be dead pretty soon.

Also, compared to harrowstorms and dragon, which you can see from far away and it pulls people together, these are almost hidden.

I think dragons where the perfect thing like this. They still need a decent amount of players to take down (I've done it as a duo, but it was hard work and took ages), and feel big. Harrowstorms were like that for a bit, but they can be soloed quite easily now.

Oblivion gates though... Bored already, and they've only been out 3 days on xbox.

I know other public dungeons if you kill the bosses too fast, they will only drop gold. I think the timer is something like 3 bosses per fifteen minutes.

Yeah I don't get that part either.

I mentioned in the past that they could've done a cool system with sigils stones, from tes 4, like a similar enchanting system.
Instead it's this worse implementation of the dolmen mechanic.

Found one soon after launch on ps4. Was actually quite a lots of trash mobs to fight through, and only 2-3 people on big boss so actually had to fight.

Now its a desert as you run through. No mobs no bosses & no challenge - apart from trying to ensure you get a decent hit on the last boss for possible loot.

    Needs fine-tuning.

I was thinking it would be good if after to kill the boss once you don't get another chest from any future bosses. I don't think it will be a problem for long though. The farmers sitting on the boss will soon move on to something else.

This confused me as well, the first one I entered, I was in there on my own, killed a couple of named bosses and got nothing. I assumed that since it says 'public dungeon' each named boss would drop loot. I got the achievements and haven't bothered to go back since. I mostly just get 'Dedric Playing Cards' or whatever from the final chest lol.

Are you folks certain they haven't changed the cool down on boss kills? Last two days I've went in and only gotten gold from the first two or three I kill. If I'm lucky I might get one a day to drop stuff. I also haven't received any companion gear in the last two days. (about 6 hours of play)

Maybe they started rolling over the 15 minute timer from one log in to another.

The final battle is so tedious. Havocrel is only hittable for about two seconds at a time until the end. I don't really understand what the point of it is.

The Deadlands are the geysers/dolmens/harrowstorms of Blackwood. You get trash loot from everything but final boss in those, too.

The Deadlands is not a Public Dungeon, it has none of the rewards or features related to Public Dungeons.

The game saying it is a public dungeon is just a piece of classic ZOS lazyness.

The final area of portals, theres a chest that spawns on the platform, drops are not from the boss itself. If you see this and have been missing it please keep an eye out.

So its not really a Public Dungeon, and the "basically no loot" is working as intended.....

    Rats.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis
