@Ashigaru ZOS has plans to open up the PTS in the future. IIRC Craglorn was planned to be in the game at launch and had to be pushed back to just after. In that sense, having it still closed this early into launch means that they'll have testers who are already very familiar with the game rather than having some of the kneejerk threads calling for nerfs by people who don't quite know their own abilities/ weaknesses yet.
Should it be open to paying customers in the future? Yes
Is it going to be? Yes.
Why are we still talking about this.
Anyway back to the original topic, I am also somewhat glad that they were leaked as it could quiet some of the rage towards this game...Could being the operative word. Lot of good stuff in those notes.
What makes you think you can participate in the PTS? Just because you are paying the taxes, are you allowed to participate in parliament meetings in your country? If anyone would join the PTS, it would be abused.

You got your answer in the other thread. The next round of PTS testing will probably be open to all. What possible purpose does starting a new thread serve?

We had plenty of understanding when you told us everything would be fine that the game was being tested a the PTS not just the weekend beta runs and look what we have now, a total cluster. There is no reason that the little PTS private club needs to be extended the beta .
The point is that the server is open evidently and people do have access to it, there is no reason that you could not allow access to all members of the game as it stands right now, all of us here have now dropped a chunk of money for this car wreck and we all deserve access to the test server since we can see how well the little club you have on there now did from the beta.

You're just bound and determined to complain about nothing, aren't you?
This is a non-issue. They're going to open up the PTS server to everyone, just not right now. You'll live.
The negative to anyone being allowed on the PTS is that they go and play on the PTS and then when the new release comes out they complain that it's boring and there's nothing new to do.

this is not a non issue, we have a small select few having access to new content and we have all paid for this game and we deserve the same access.
The main thing this provides is exclusivity to “world firsts” and other such things, along with a significant shortage of eyes on potential changes. With pre-launch PTSers getting first crack at Craglorn (Erlexx’s video was cut mid-stream after the second pull in the Trial tonight after hours of lead up to “Craglorn footage”), for folks who are trying to be competitive, it’s a significant advantage. I’m not in one of the more elite guilds for ESO, but I have been competitive in many other MMORPGs. I don’t fault them for using the tools at their disposal, but PTS in MMORPGs post-launch are typically completely open to anyone wanting access so the most eyes can review possible/future content to verify the changes taking place have time for feedback by the larger community.PTS post-launch should be public, hence the name. It’s not a private test server.
That said, at least posting the PTS patch notes goes a little ways toward generating continued community feedback and I do appreciate getting to see them in advance of the patch being pushed to live.

Just stop it. This forum doesn't need it, doesn't want it, and won't tolerate it. You both need step off the soap boxes and agree to disagree.

So is arguing over something you can't change, like other people opinions.
