Why even keep these sets in the game?

Do the developers play so little PvP that they don't realize a Proc for 1500 dmg is utterly worthless, it does essentially no damage?

This is a real question, not being snarky.
The average player has 25k to 35k health... 30k resist, --- most of these sets are adding like a meaningless 500 damage or something totally irrelevant.. in other words about 80% of the sets in the game are uselss in PvP

Why should you get any damage or healing for no cost?

I just adapted my build and moved on. I looked at how much damage Zaan did for instanced and noped right out of that lol. So I went back to Maw of the Infernal, and while it might not do as much damage as it once did it is a wonderful distraction with it's flames, massive size, and unrelenting pursuit of it's target.

The ones who know what they're doing actually have more this patch and you need it. My 5x medium stamsorc has 30K on the back bar without Pariah, rising to closer to 40K with that set fully procced. I also started using the 10% single-target and AOE defense CP. 30K health. (I have about 5K buffed weapon damage). I still got one-shotted by a nightblade. How?

    Dual-wield heavy attack #1 (4K crit) + Disease Enchant
Dual-wield heavy attack #2 (2.5K non crit) + Shock Enchant
    Doylemish proc (5K)
    Soul Harvest (8K)
    Caluurion (8K)
    Whirlwind (6K)

All in 2 seconds with a stun in the first, e.g. a true unavoidable 1-shot. Don't ask me how he got the damage that high. My own Caluurion NB doesn't even come close, not against a build with those resistances. It's probably some extreme vamp build with fully procced Balorgh that is only good for one-shot ganking. He did manage to pull that off a second time in the middle of a brawl, though. When you think about it, the Doylemish proc can only mean he is using the stun from out of combat crouch. Insane. The hardest hitting burst I've come across, but some others have not been far behind. Before I put on Pariah, some DK kept insta-killing me with a Leap, Vateshran 2H, Executioner combo. Insta-kill from range on my stamsorc. No dotting up first. I was wearing Eternal Vigor. This made me switch to Pariah.

Incidentally, I tried getting the from crouch bonus, but that only works against NPCs, only if you are flanking, and only for a single attack. You can get super-high Soul Harvest numbers by opening with that, but it does not work against players. In other words, that's not it. It's people finding ways to stack weapon damage. My friend, who plays necro, tells me he has similar resistances to my stamsorc, 6K weapon damage and a 16K Dizzying tooltip. I have not pressed him on whether he has all of that at the same time and under what buff conditions. I should really do that.

I guess what I'm saying is, some people are making proc sets work. I've been hit with 2.5K Vateshran 2H procs, but also for close to 5K.

Yeah, caluurion on stamina. Its gross, but it works

I am glad i stopped playing this patch. They completely broke it with their proc damage scaling. Pts should be capped on live values with wd/sd+mag/stam hybrid scaling.

    This way its just broken.

For 5k WD it's like 20% drop in power. Still a lot. It doesn't work if you roll full tank without WD, but then again, that's a good thing.

I don't get it honestly. If you still end up in the dirt with 40k resists, they're not what you need. Building for more damage would make more sense.

As my friend says: Damage isn't the problem this patch. I'm not actually sure where the sweet spot is, but for now I'm wearing Pariah in CP. In no CP it's still Eternal Vigor. It may be possible to build for more damage on a sorc or a nightblade or if you are using Mist Form.
