Since the rework of it from a magic ranged stun to a stamina "spammable", no.

I just pulled it out recently because I was experimenting with dual wield and wasn't satisfied with any spamable options within the skill line..
It's just uncomfortable to use and doesn't justify the effort it takes to make it work.

There's a hint of awesome in there...!
I'll get down with that earth bender theme.
It's got okay damage. It's got a cc. It's got it's own special status effect!

Even with all that, it just doesn't feel good.

Yes, but if there was another Stam DK spammable I absolutely wouldn't.

Stamina DK is at the very bottom of DPS in this game in both ceiling and group utility, at least Stonefist, as clunky and as annoying as it is, provides a unique debuff.

In PVP Stonefist is a horrible and clunky skill, I dont know a single Stam DK that uses it on PC EU. Gonna quote Joy_Division here, who described it perfectly:
I don’t even play a stamina dragonknight, but I can understand the collective “meh” reception for this change. Stamina DKs have for years begged for a class skill that could synergize with their supposed identity of a close-combat melee brawler. And instead got a ranged attack – with a cast-time! – that they must spam 3 times just to get the generic stun status effect and adds a little extra damage for their teammates. They already have an ability that gives them an instant stun, they are primarily melee combatants, and they’re about as far away from the “bard” archetype looking to help the group as you can get in ESO. If I play a stamina DK to be a devasting close combat hero, that’s an actual identity, that’s a meaningful play pattern, that’s something distinctive; does the Stonefist skill actually accentuate or has any synergy with any of that? No, it doesn’t.

My first toon was a stamdk and I still play it regularly in PvE. I started off as a noob with the skill and just found it too unwieldy. Using 2H skills and class DOTs make my stamdk a capable toon but there’s no place for Stone Fist. Stam whip is the skill we want.

I don't PvP on my stam DK right now, but I have used Stone Giant in the last couple of patches in PvP. Dizzying is meta for duels, but Stone Giant is OK. The main reason for using the skill is to save on bar space:

    (A) It covers Minor Brutality, hence no need for Fragmented Shield or Fossilize.
    (B) Those other skills are expensive. Not using them lets you get by with base magicka regen, which leads to:
    (C) Using Physical Resistance + Health + Stamina potions instead of tri-pots.

DK resistances are unbalanced. They have higher spell resistance. Not needing to find magicka gives you 5K more physical resistance, filling in a weakness. I also prefer Shuffle over Fragmented Shield for the root / snare removal and the AOE damage resistance.

When it comes down to a 1v1, will you win over the Dizzying user? Not likely. Your kill potential is lower. Don't think the stomp is nothing, though. It is an AOE, as are Leap and Breath, so you likely should invest into the AOE damage CP star regardless. If you are running Dizzying you typically have no ranged skill at all. People (try to) outrange you all the time. As a magblade main I appreciate the mixed melee / ranged approach. Seeing Stone Giant as a "failed" ranged skill is the glass half-empty view.

I also find it interesting that spamming the skill keeps up both procs of the new Diamond's Victory set, which it looks like it might get some traction in high-end PvE. For PvP there are probably better sets. My own brief test indicates Spriggan is better. Still, it may be something to think about.
PC EU: Magblade (PvP main), DK (PvE Tank), Sorc (PvP and PvE), Magden (PvE Healer), Magplar (PvP and PvE DD), Arcanist (PvE DD)
PC NA: Magblade (PvP and PvE every role)

    PvE yes

    PvP: Obsidian shard

PvP: On other mag DK, yes. Stone Giant to secure kill when mag pool drops + an extra ranged ability is never too bad when killing someone attacking from the top of a keep

PvP: On hybrid DK, yes, Stone Giant. For the above and also because it helps sustain, does damage, stuns, increase damage (no idea if it is actually matters, but I still use it anyway when I conserve mag for healing).

Then again, I am the ResidentContrarian...
