Antiquities is a lot more fun than writs!

So slow to level up.

A year into the release, and I am finally on a trial team that really wants people to have a couple of the mythic items.
I'm probably not going to end up getting them, because I dislike every single step of the process.

This is why a couple new players I brought in like it. Crafting mats they tend to horde. Armor gets deconed or researched. But scrying is cash and free housing stuff, both of which they are in short supply. But not hard to do while they run around questing. The barrier to entry is low. They about lost their minds when they got their first purple leads to vendor.

Do you not use lazy writ crafter? I only do writs when I remember and feel like it, but use the addon to make it pretty painless.

Yes, but not through guild traders. The green lead antiquity in every zone is worth 250 gold, and the blue lead you get after excavating the green lead gives you an antiquity worth 1k gold; the first time you do the green lead and blue lead in each zone, you get a purple lead, which when dug gives you an antiquity worth 5k gold. After you've done all the green, blue, and purple leads one time for each zone on the map, you get an orange lead for an item worth 100k gold when dug - but it's available only once per account. Those all sell to normal NPC vendors.
After that, you can dig the green and blue leads in each zone as often as you like for the same amount of gold. Not a lot, and not as much as doing writs, but for me a lot more fun at this point.

Are the antiquities the same "color" as the lead used to excavate them?

Do you have an option to decon a purple for mats instead of selling to a vendor?
