I killed Valkynaz Orran on the quest A Mysterious Event and Bastian gave dialogue about killing livestock. There were no other creatures around. Also lost rapport.

Same for me. I lost rapport from Bastion for that fight.

It's all good though. In order to even out the universe, I went and killed a few innocents in Kvatch when he wasn't looking.

I lost rapport with Bastian for the same reason. I was rather dumbfounded when it happened.

It is probably best that Bastian visits an eye alchemist before there is a terrible scandal involving him romancing farm animals.

i lost even double rapport with him when killing that quest boss and stood there dumbfounded thinking i accidentally attacked one of the npcs in the room, but they were not targetable.

Nah, I got it too but I think it's due to Bastian thinking you killed this boss' pet. Like, you did of course but come on, it was hostile @_@ Not well thought out system, these companions, but if I keep in mind this is new to ZOS I tend to enjoy it.

After finishing Cloudrest Bastian was mourning the recently deceased Z'Maja, saying things like "No!" and "You won't be forgotten."
