Shadowfen Lead for the Kilt is Absurd

A zone full of players parked on a water / nirnroot / hyacinth node for hours on end. I just put in about 4 hours with nothing to show for it but saw plenty of others trying it for 8+ hours.
For the love of Zos, please adjust this lead source to something more reasonable. The only remotely entertaining or enjoyable aspect of this was the banter in zone chat arising from the absurdity of the situation.

✭I remember not getting Markarth at launch, so when I farmed for the ring of the pale this year, there was no competition except for bad men's hollow where I grouped with another. Took me over 2.5hrs in 1 sitting for all the pieces, 1.5hrs in bad men's.
Likely I'll be doing the same for the kilt.3 -

ESO isn't meant to be that sort of grind. Up the drop rate or add more sources (like any harvesting node in shadowfen)0 -

Who doesn't love leads being locked behind unfarmable sources (Ancestral Motifs), or lead sources that can be obstructed by other players, like Imperial City bosses or specific resource nodes.
What knucklehead is responsible for those marvelous decisions?7 -

✭✭✭✭✭The worst so far imo is the one where you have a chance to get it from the npc in DB sanctuary, cooldown is 20hrs so if you dont get it first time you have to wait, and on and on it goes 20 40 60hr wait, np

Hahahaha I just said that. People are ridiculous. if they don’t get the set they see on YouTube or alcast website in the first two minutes of release they make a half dozen threads.

I did not know about this. So . . . I just went to Shadowfen . . . and went for a high-speed ride around he zone (with my companion Mirri). It's so sad. So very, very, very sad. Dozens of players camping out at a single water-plant node. Cursing other players (like a snapping dog) who come near. I am sure and certain that ZOS has psychologists on their their staff who specialize in pushing player OCD-triggers.
But I gotta agree with the original poster: The drop-chance must be raised. I would suggest allowing it to drop from any resource node in the Zone, not just plants, and not just water plants.2 -

To be fair, it's not entirely about wanting everything in the first 24 hours or demanding instant gratification so much as people just not wanting to be "forced" into such menial tasks that pit you against your fellow players in a way that ruins the whole experience for almost everyone involved.
It really wouldn't take much creativity to make more fun and cooperative methods for obtaining these leads, so even though I'm not one of the people farming this (hence, I don't really have a dog in this fight) I totally get the outrage people have by being treated this way by a company they pay money to get enjoyment from.
Besides, I don't think it's totally fair to just sweepingly dismiss people for wanting to get the Mythic in question ASAP either, because score pushing and competitive leaderboards are a thing even on the PvE side of the game. Those players are kind of under more pressure to get to new things ASAP, you know. And theirs is a legitimate way to enjoy the game in my book, even though I'm not a part of that particular community.3 -

✭✭✭✭✭I did a couple of sessions, the longest and successful one was 10 hours... it was by far the worst continuous grind I've done in the game, even beating the artaeum fishing which I didn't think possible. Terrible, poorely thought design: extremely low drop rate coupled with low density, compounded by huge player population. At least for the other leads you can do some actual playing to get them, and pass the time.0 -

Doesn't matter if it's the first day or not, the crappy drop chance means you could be doing this a year from now and still have it take just as long. I just did the fishing lead for thrassians a few days ago and there was barely anyone there compared to day one, and it still took hours of fishing without tons of people flooding the fishing spots.
