Given how little this is used beyond soul gem farming, any chance it can have damage pushed to be in line with the ST version, the same as every other AoE DoT?

Soul gem farming? Who is doing that? I believe this set is very nice for stam DDs atleast since it cost mag instead of stam and it deals a good damage imo.

This is the aoe morph of soul trap. Not the set.

I haven't picked splitting since they updated consuming to restore resources and be a competent single target dot. Splitting might need a second look.

There was a time last year this was a legit damage skill. You're better off with Consuming Trap for solo content.

Consuming trap seems fine, DoT damage in line with equivalents, resource return and free to cast for stam given mag cost. Soul splitting, however, does about 30% less damage than equivalent AoE DoTs.

Just change that CP called "Occult Overload" that makes enemies explode when they have a status on them.

This is what Occult Overload is now:
Whenever you kill an enemy under the effect of a status effect, they violently explode for 2000 Oblivion Damage per stage to all other enemies in a 4 meter radius.

    But add this.
This damage is increased X% for each target in the area affected by a status effect from oblivion related skills.

Then change soul traps to be flagged as oblivion related. And I'm sure there are some useless sets that could be made useful by changing them to be flagged as oblivion related too.

Then someone can make oblivion magic dedicated builds that can be very effective, and they are self contained and easier to balance. Since the power multiplier primarily comes from Occult Overload CP's added conditional effect, which can be easily tuned.

Rather than tying it to a niche setup why not just bring damage into line with the standard established across all other AoE DoTs?

Great idea. This CP perk is quite good for grinding but it is hard to utilize it when mobs usually go in groups of 3 & are dying from a single poison arrow... ,^^
