I'm surprised these boards weren't blowing up.

I'm definitely liking some of the changes after my quick skim: especially the enchanting fixes.

Are there other forums where the developers posted these? The only other thread I've seen was another copy/paste thread on the CS forum.

I know ESO employees post on the ESO subreddit, and the patch notes are there. I don't know if anyone official posted the patch notes though (not from what I've seen), or if they were posted by a player since there's not an NDA (more likely).

At any rate, thanks for posting them as I avoid reddit and the customer support forums when possible.. so I had not seen them yet.

Yes, in the PTS forums ...

Some good changes here it seems. I like that they lowered the listing prices of items on the guild store but that whole systems needs an overhaul. I was hoping for some revamps on combat animations but that may be a long time coming. Will see how it shakes out once it hits live.

so even after the game is launched they still favor the PTS people with early access to this instead of the player base?

Eh, not sure that makes sense. Would you want them releasing this untested? :/

Now if only they had revamped enchanting so that 90% of all possible enchants weren't freaking jewelry enchants, because there's practically no enchantable jewelry in ESO. Oh, and about tripling the leveling in enchanting would help, too; even having two enchanters swapping enchants for deconstruction, it's still slower than molasses going uphill in winter.

The point is its a Public Test Server, the game has released it should be open to everyone not just the people that spent a year playing it in closed beta. Their job was to test the game prior to launch and they did that but it is not to get early access to content before the rest of the paying customers do. it is also not releasing anything it is what it says, a Public Test Server there is no reason why we all can not access it.

I dont think i have ever said this but if this is the case the players should be outraged that everyone does not have access to this, we have all payed for the game now so nobody is any more special than anyone else. Every game that has had a PTS allowed EVERYONE to access it if you were a paying customer.

@Ashigaru‌ ZOS has plans to open up the PTS in the future. IIRC Craglorn was planned to be in the game at launch and had to be pushed back to just after. In that sense, having it still closed this early into launch means that they'll have testers who are already very familiar with the game rather than having some of the kneejerk threads calling for nerfs by people who don't quite know their own abilities/ weaknesses yet.

Should it be open to paying customers in the future? Yes

Is it going to be? Yes.

Why are we still talking about this.

Anyway back to the original topic, I am also somewhat glad that they were leaked as it could quiet some of the rage towards this game...Could being the operative word. Lot of good stuff in those notes.

    Yeah, calm your.. GBRceRI.gif

Devs have already announced that the Public Testserver is (near)top on their to-do list.

I personally have no problem shoving the PTS guinea-pigs letting the brave PTS soldiers experience all them bugs firsthand. :p

The point is they tested what we are in the middle of now, i have no reference on what it was like prior but what we have is a cluster*uck, so it might be good to have other people take a look at it not only that but we saw what happened in EA. Seemed a lot of those people chose to either not report what was broken and took advantage of it and even as late as yesterday an exploited used to farm a boss that was used by PTS people and eventually passed around was just fixed it let you get vet 10 from vet 8 in a matter of hours..

Also the very familiar part is pure crap, the info was just released to the PTS so nobody is familiar with it and as i said we are ALL paying customers and if the PTS is going to be open we deserve access not just a select crowd that was chosen prior to open beta weekends.

I am glad you have no issue with it but as you can tell i do and there should be no top of the list there should be access for everyone or they stop access for prior PTS and take it to an internal group of testers. People complained about a so called pay wall well this is 100 times worse, they are allowing a select few access to new content and new ways to exploit and gain an advantage over non PTS and if you doubt that just look at what happened from EA to just a few days after when we had multiple VR people and then other stuff that was not reported that was in the PTS like the ability to go from VR 8 to VR 10 in a matter of a few hours.

There needs to be access to all period.

Seriously dude come down off your high horse. ZOS cannot address every bug instantly when it is reported. As some bugs become higher in priority, things that may have been reported but deemed minor don't make it in before launch. This is natural with any game.

As for the familiarity, I did not mean familiarity with the new content but familiarity with builds, class skills, combat mechanics. Familiarity with the game as a whole. Someone who tested the game inside and out will likely better be able to guage (this early into live) what is a bug or an exploit and what isn't. They plan to open it in the future. At that point obviously more people will know the game very well and it makes sense to allow everyone to test it.

Really you just look like you're throwing a tantrum because you want early access and you don't have it. It's really not a huge advantage anyway. Nothing you did in a PTS would translate to live since it's a completely different server. So if you were in the PTS, you'd be bitching that you wasted all your time leveling a character and don't get to keep it. Just calm down.

You can earn up to Veteran Rank 12 as you continue your adventures in Craglorn.
Game has been out a month and they raise the level cap? I hope I am misunderstanding something.

@Kolache‌ The devs have been hedging questions about the level cap for awhile. I imagine some future content will likely raise it even more after Craglorn.

@Ashigaru, We did report exploits, and we did report possible exploits or things we thought could later be exploits. I don't think the majority of PTS choose the keep them secret or partake in exploits when the game went live. Those who may have and perhaps some quietly stayed off the radar and away from forums in order to do so, shame on them.

EDIT, sorry kindle started freaking out and posted weirdness and then comment, anyway as I was saying,

If you could have or ever do have access to the PTS forums, you will see many things were posted months ago by us that we thought could lead to problems and only recently were addressed by ZOS. The shear numbers of players in the game alone affected many things we did not see.

For this reason I do see your point, that it should be tested by many more then just us, but please don't think of us all as cheaters and exploiters, because I guarantee that is not the case.

If they raise it on a regular basis they're going to have to figure out something for PvP, as in periodically raising the bolster or keeping the soft caps at a certain level in Cyrodiil or something else.

Amazing to see so many games try so hard to avoid poor matching in PvP. ESO releases; everyone goes in the same campaigns, raise the level cap. Gotta give them credit for going against the flow.

It would seem to be a good idea to player-test it first. That's what the PTS is there for.

You are correct and are WE not players also, they PTS only club should have gone away when the game launched but it did not and that is bull sht.

Every person that purchased a copy of this game deserves to have access to the PTS not just he select few that had access before the game launched.
