Impatience - companions, what's next

I know, I know, Mirri and Bastian are not even officially here yet and still have issues, but still... - when can we expect more companions and which ones? I hope we get the next couple in Q4. I could imagine that the next companions would be Khajiit and Altmer (based on favorites like Raz, Khamira and Ayrenn, Quen, Fennorian, Verandis). What do you think?

I expect them to put out 2 companions every 6 months, seems reasonable to me. So Q4 this year would presumably be Templar and Sorcerer, Q2 of next year will be a Warden and Necromancer, and Q4 of next year a Werewolf and Vampire to complete the set.

I suspect we'll get one more with the end of year dlc and two ore with next summers dlc... and several more we have to buy with crowns.

We are probs deffo getting one companion in each class, so thats another four upcoming, might get one later in story dlc this year and one/two next years chapter. With maybe some being thrown in the crown store in the meantime.

Also there is deffo going to be mulitiple companions on the same class. Different watered down skills of the skills opposite to current ones from class trees. Also a different mixture of different class skills setting each companion apart from eachother in the same class. Meaning can see loads being added over the upcoming years.

I can also imagine that a new couple of companions would come out every six months, especially if they should have a proper background story with a lot of dialogue (even more if they really want to implement that romance thing). But I could imagine that the different classes are less relevant than the different races / genders.

I'd only be interested in an argonian shadowscale but I don't think someone like that will be coming this year if Q4 is going to be heavily Deadlands themed...

If the companion is a necromancer will the player get penalised for using a criminal acts skill?

Not this current two but future companion who might be in necromancy class.

Not really? I mean you could romance and marry various companions in Skyrim. It's not for me but I don't really see how it's creepy, there are other games that let you do stuff like this too.

I’m assuming that after we get a companion based on a certain class in the game in ways like we got Mirri and Bastien, then they can start selling other companions of that same types in the crown store. Otherwise, if for example they released a sorcerer companion to the crown stores first and if that was the only way you can get it with the skills it would have that would make the crown store “pay to win.”

as they are crappy, to say the least, it does not matter, the banker performs better and still has an inventory to help you with. The companion is just a bad concept which came to live because they had nothing else to offer.
I wrote somewhere else (here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/7265086/#Comment_7265086) how bad they are and how boring. I tried it very hard, but my heart grew colder the longer I tried to interact with these bad concepts.....
They could bring Mehrunes dogan himself, as companion it is a waste.

There are so many interesting, well written characters. I hope they get to the point where companions become so awesome that they make it a part of the base game.

Opinions about the companions are divided, that is clear. Maybe many just had too high expectations of what they would do in battle? I don't even expect that they will be of any help when it comes to group content as a solo player and of course the opportunities for dialogue are also finite. But nonetheless, I'm looking forward to some variety and entertainment with companions.

Only if you don't come to the game from the (table top) role playing angle.

It's not me running around Tamriel, facing threats and saving people, it's my character. And he found friends, made enemies, earned respect from some, contempt from others, what should be creepy about him finding a romantic relationship sooner or later? I doubt very much that you'll get to have bizarre sex scenes (and thank the gods of rating and stuff for that!), so it would be just another kind of emotional relationship among all the others the character gets to have.

The thing I think strange is the kind of... I don't know... social dependency you'd have to have on a game/game character to view the idea of a romantic partner for said character in any way, shape, or form as related to having a romatic relationship with some pixels youself.

The really creepy part will be when you've been role playing with your romantic partner for while then visit my house and find them locked in a cage.... I lock a lot of house guests in cages.

Pure coincidence. Just like how experience boosters went on sale during double xp events while people were farming Champs. Them ZOS nerfed the cp trees next patch.

It's better than a new class wich I won't play because of my main has already completed 95% of all content. I waited for the necromancer and he is nothing like other necros represented as enemies. But with a companion at least I will feel not so bored doing solo activities.

Was against a new class so soon after necro we got which is the most bland and boring class for me, a lost possibility in a sense, but after seeing what they've done with companions I'd better take another boring class made on a lap tbh. At least it wouldn't affect performance much. Won't bat an eye if this feature just flops after some months.

Performance year smh.

Can you marry all three together? At least for Orsimer it would be perfectly appropriate.

It's purely hypothetical at this point, but clearly the 2 companions we are going to get with this chapter would be OK with simultaneously being married to millions of our characters at the same time. And our characters would be able to see that happening in-game.

Romances, wanting children, and RPing a family is unsettling to me...My advice is to stay out of Daggerfall or at least Turn off /Zone chat on the weekends.

On another note...I would think that every bug, glitch ,and performance Issue had better be solved before they introduce Romance, or they will have a very angry and vocal community.

If there will be romances and in the end you can even marry your companion, then I very much hope that you can later also file for divorce ... In TES V Skyrim I regretted the decision very quickly.
