Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

I sort of wish ZOS did just 3 Content drops a year and used the extra time for bugfixing...

Instead of 4 drops that are spread to release with 3 months between them, maybe 3 drops with 4 months between them?

They could cut out one of the Dungeon DLCs, since I imagine they have the lowest ratio of development time vs earnings. And I know there are folks that love the Dungeon DLC, but wouldn't you rather have 2 fantastic Dungeons instead of maybe 4 Dungeons of the level we get now a year? Or better yet, actually have the Dungeons as part of a Zone DLC launch, like Imperial City?

Use the extra 3 months of time to fix and polish things a little better, maybe?

Wouldn't mind seeing that as well, good luck with keeping this open.

I've always suggested moving both Dungeon DLCs to the Chapter update & Q4 Story update while having smaller updates for fixing and tuning in between.

ESO is a cash cow to also fund some of their other projects. You're looking at it as if they can't hire more developers and defect and game testers, when they could if they wanted to increase the priority level of ESO. If you look at the flawed release of CyberPunk and the refunds they offered, and how it also was ripped from the PlayStation store, it still generated a massive amount of profit. ESO is a stable source of profit and is doing well for a 7 year old MMO in a scene where so many attempt to get off the ground and die.

I agree - do three zones a year. That would actually better pace out the story content rather than cramming it in two zones & an epilogue.

    Q1: Chapter + Feature + Trial
    Q2: Zone + Dungeons
    Q3: Zone + Dungeons

I would be especially alight with this if they also touched up on out of date parts of the game.

I do a lot of housing and am big into the fashion side of this game. So many outfits and furnishings have simply not aged well compared to what gets released more recently.

I wish that they would focus on bug fixes _and_ content 4 times per year. This is not a zero-sum game. They can hire people, if necessary.

Do the dungeon packs actually require all that much effort to make? Theres almost no new assets made just for them.

But I basically agree. One Tamriel was probably the best update this game ever got and all it really did was tweak exiting content.

Actually scratch that "probably". It was hands down the best.

They've had 7 years to fix their game. Do you really think 3 months is going to make a difference?

The people that work on new content are not the same people that troubleshoot the game. Different skill sets involved.

Maybe they could get ahead of the bugs if new ones weren't being introduced at a high rate of speed.

True, but maybe 3 instead of 4 content drops a year would give them more time to polish their content before they release it

Yes, but if there are less broken things coming out, the repairmen might be able to catch up a little.

I am pretty sure that the people who work on upcoming chapters and DLC are also the people who fix the game. At least, from a skills perspective.

Who is considering dungeon DLCs as content drops though? Like honestly. There are two content drops a year, the Chapter in Q2 and the zone DLC in Q4.

They are content drops. Maybe not the content you want, but still content drops.

Wildstar anyone? I knew from the moment I played the beta back in 2013, that it was going to outlast Wildstar. But you are right, it generates a profit, and it is in the best interest of a for-profit company to continue down paths that generate them profit.

While I can't say the design of Dungeon DLC appeals to me, I've definitely met players that get plenty of enjoyment out of them. There are definitely people who enjoy the challenges presented by that content, like the Speed Run-Hard Mode-No Death Trifecta Achievements.
