Confused about treasure maps, please help =)

Hi, I have a question about the standard zone treasure maps you find in the game (Not the Collectors Edition maps).

I decided to delete a character that I did not want anymore. I had found treasure maps and looted the chest with that character.

Now on my new character am I not able to find those treasure maps anymore? The standard ones you find throughout the world and in chests. I've looted a bunch of chests in Stros M'Kai and have not been able to find the treasure map that I found on my last character fairly quickly.

Treasure map drops are random. You can go through a whole zone without getting a single one.

They seem to have a low drop rate, but you are not locked out from them, Just the luck of the draw.

Okay so I can still find the same map on a different character just not the same character correct?

It's just weird because with my first character I found this map right away in my first chest. Then again in the third chest but couldn't loot it again because it was in my inventory. With this character I've opened Master Locks, Advanced, etc. but can't find that same treasure map again.

That's correct.

And random is random.

Okay thank you. Was just worried that I wouldn't be able to get this map again. I'll keep looking
