ESO Reddit is nice and friendly though. Facebook is evil
The Reddit is better than the forums really, people are more positive and mods don't snip everything we say.

But as a customer (and just as someone who appreciates the medium) I too-often feel disappointed and/or disrespected by the company's products and actions (or lack thereof) in some areas, and am just the type of person who's inclined to call it like I see it. I don't have a negative take on things because it's fun or because I have unrealistic standards that are impossible to meet -- it's just genuinely how I see things a lot of times with ESO, sadly. It's honestly disappointing and frustrating; which is in no small part where the negative attitudes come from for a lot of us, unsurprisingly.

then stop being a customer. If you like a shop but the shop doesn't treat you properly as a customer, sadly for the good of both, you have to break it up. Only you suffer in this relationship. They will suffer if they lose their customers. Losing you will mean nothing, losing everyone will mean the change everyone wants. As long as greed is fed, it will be stronger than quality. It is not necessarily customer's fault, but the fault of customers that continue paying even though they receive less quality both of a product and company than it should be.

While I agree with your sentiment on one level, I just don't think it's quite that simple. I mean, it could be; if I was just fed up enough and didn't feel like positive change was even a remote possibility, I could just uproot and take my business elsewhere. And if enough people did the same, it might force real change on ZOS' end... eventually.

    BUT...

    - ZOS currently has a stranglehold on the online portion of the Elder Scrolls franchise, sadly.

    - I've got friends in ESO that I want to spend gaming time with, and it's our preferred/only venue.

    - I personally have significant time and monetary investment in my account that I'm not keen to throw away.

    - I actually like most of the game, despite the many flaws and issues that come with it.

I do agree with you, though; at least somewhat. I vote with my wallet -- if I don't think something's worth the purchase, I don't purchase it. And if I want something (and it meets all other criteria, I guess) I buy it.

But either way, that doesn't put the product or the choices that went into it above reproach in my book. Not by a long shot. Telling people with negative feedback any version of, "If you don't like it, leave!" is not going to result in better behavior (for lack of a better word) by the company in the longterm, nor a better product in the short. I'm not saying you necessarily meant it that way, but I think it's fair to say it falls on "that side of the fence", so to speak.

Besides, I was mostly just trying to provide insight as to why some of us have such seemingly negative feedback/attitude toward ZOS. I can't speak for everyone, but as one of the people who's often on the snarky/negative end of the feedback spectrum I thought it might help folks who don't have this perspective understand it a bit better. For whatever that's worth, haha. :P
