I wish dlc and longer dungeons were worth my time

Like hard isn't even the problem anymore I am just thinking some dungeon just take way to long for little experience and reward.

Like longer dungeons should be worth more xp and have more heavy sacks at least. Also shortcuts are nice for earning as we explore.

I don't really enjoy DLC dungeons. Too long, too many one-shots, just not fun. And they still yield 10 crystals like FG1.

I think this is a flaw in the design - it is obvious how this has led to our current system of frequent dungeon rushers

Just to put things in perspective, how long is "too long"?

When I started doing vet DLC dungeons I was playing with a really casual guild and it took about 2-3 hours to complete a single dungeon. When I got better with my rotation and understanding of the mechanics, I started running dungeons with dedicated players and the same dungeons became 15-30 min endeavors.

I do think they're worth mine. I dislike the current xp/crystal treadmill and prefer to spend my time running content that I enjoy. Its more of a matter of having fun, or having shinies. Both would be great, but I'd choose fun over shinies most of the time.

That said, vet DLCs do have better rewards, if they're worth anything to you. Titles, skins, and motifs.

After you've learned them, most arent all that long.

    They're not that looooong.
I like them, I like dungeons that aren't just "shoot" straight forward as the ones from base game are.
Besides that, as @Agenericname mentioned, vDLCs have better rewards.

My experience is that when runs go smoothly, base game dungeons take 10-15 min, and DLC dungeons take 30-40 min. That's a big difference, and often affects whether I'm willing to queue for a dungeon in the first place (because I have to make sure I have time for the longest DLC dungeon). The fact that non-smooth DLC dungeon runs (which are common in PuGs) can take 2+ hours just makes it worse.

(Note: the above times are based on PuGing Vet dungeons.)

Some people crave the extra difficulty, skin/personality achievements, tri-fecta's, etc. DLC dungeons are not for everyone and that's ok.

Well if your measurement is rewards based then yeah, compared to couple of mins base game dungeons those are different kind of deal. But enjoyment wise for me personally dlc ones are way more appealing.

The main attraction of dungeons is gear - many drop sets that are required for meta builds. I've been running a lot of BDV for Kinra's and will help out guildies get whatever set they need/want. Thing is though, I won't run DPS anymore. It's just too hard to get the right DPS and tanking and healing are more fun anyways.

Dungeon Finder is also great for leveling, pop some scrolls and ambrosia and level on up.

Base dungeons are great for your dailies and pledges. I love getting guildies together, running a few iterations of our toons through them and calling.

The DLC dungeons have better visuals and stories in some cases, but I honestly dread some of them after a while. Like any content, the more you play it, the easier it gets though.

Ultimately, play what you enjoy though. You'll get gear through overland and crafting too. Arenas are fun, too! Mix it up and just enjoy your time.

I do enjoy DLC dungeons, assuming I'm running with guildies. I've stopped PUGging since I don't feel like dealing with getting blamed for 'not doing my job' when a rando DPS runs out ahead, makes me work three times as hard to collect the adds, and then just kites mobs and light attacks while I have no more resources to stack things.

One they they could to to help the completion rate is to scale the XP/transmute rewards based on the dungeon you randomly get. Of course everyone will favor getting the full XP bonus and all transmutes for a FGI run (and skipping two of the bosses in the meantime). But if someone does vMHK HM, that definitely deserves a lot more than the same thing you get for nFGI. At least that would help with the rate of people bailing on a dungeon and hoping for a better one.

Vet DLCs are only enjoyable with a group of friends. Its why vet rand queue is so long.

1-shot mechanics, heavy reliance on DPS (which is a crapshoot), and predominantly toxic players keep me out of v random.

And I agree, the reward isn't much better or more worth it. I have a master crafter and 6 characters that do writs so I don't mind snagging blue set pieces and bumping them up.

I dont know if its vet is too frustrating or normal is too easy.

I don't think any of em are too long. I'd rather do dlc than fall asleep doing base dungeons.

Since they are part of the random queue, everyone is thrown into them depending on what the queue gives them. And some people really aren't good enough for some content, regardless of gear/CP.
