Sorc Pet PvP?

SinSanity
SinSanity
When I saw the pets that the Sorc class gets, I immediately wanted to try them out.

Alas, I see NO info on the damage or usefulness on the pets in PvP.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks

General consensus is that pets are bad for PvP.

Is that because an enemy player can see them if your stealthed, or because it takes up slot space. Im kinda wondering about the stealth thing myself. Im mainly out there for lore books and shards. Not much of a PVPer.

Its practically useless in pvp because :
    - You are stealthed, your pets are not.
    - You cant command your pet to attack a specific target
    - Their damage is abysmal compared to other sorc single target skills

All of the above. Stealth mechanics and other issues aside, they simply do not do enough effectively to justify the opportunity cost. Unless you're talking about Charged Atronach. That can bring the pain if you make sure that the enemy group doesn't have anywhere to go.

I only use the clanfear and its main purpose is tanking then questing.
The twinlight does more damage but dies too easy.

In PvP the tanking part will not work, the pet also tend to run over to the enemy and getting killed.
I even tend to replace it with an area effect spell in dungeons.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

WTF did they have in mind? :\
As an NB im happy about it but its not fair and it doesnt make sense.

Ah ok, I see now. Well, when I go out there for shard hunting, I'll have to dismiss the pets. Thank you very much for letting me know about the stealth deal with them. Saves me the embarrassment.

They would not be if ZOS balanced them for "cast in combat only" rather than loltogglefree.

Because you toggle them on or off outside combat, they are weak.

If made a threat and portable DPS monsters that instill fear in other people, then you make them expensive and crippling to your magic and amount of slots, but the pay is worth it.

This is how conjuration was done in the other TES games. This is how it is supposed to work. It needs to be tactical. Not "cast then waltz into battle."

Out of these two, the best balanced is for threatening DPS dishing 30 - 60 sec summons that you need to cast in battle for full effectiveness. That is the proper balance I think. Rather then toggle summons that HAVE to be weak.

I want to see people kiting a magic-expensive, sprinting, 30-second-great-sword-wielding Dremora Lord chasing them down. Rather than some clumsy Clannfear.

    What needs to be done.

1.)Summons are duration based, not toggle.

2.)You might summon them outside combat, but they have a timer ticking. You need to be tactical about this.

3.)They need to be a threat. Not clumsy Clannfear and tiny scamps. The Twilight is fine though, she does her job well as support and a healer if specced right.

We need some tanky and obstructive Daedroths and DPS slaughtering, speedy on-foot, trash-talking Dremora up in here. Daedra that are WORTH the decision of taking up slots.
