No, they really aren't. I know this will come as a shock to you but PvP in MMOs is never where most of the playerbase is. This one is no exception.

Agree, I haven't even done any PvP. So that's one person who is subbed but not counted in you calculations.

But ye @loco I think 10% is a perfectly feesable number, it's not the same a PC where there are lots of people using PC's for other things other than gaming. People who brought a PS4 did so to game.

I would like to point you to this website. PC actually only sold 14% of all copies of Skyrim sold. Compared to 59% on the Xbox. Now with the PS4 having ESO free of extra subscription costs, other than those imposed by Zeni, I think these numbers will change to be more favouriable with the PS4 than the XBOX 4, not wait 1... ahhh whatever...

    http://www.statisticbrain.com/skyrim-the-elder-scrolls-v-statistics/

I think Zeni are on to a massive winner here. Sorry to disagree with you Loco. But I just don't see it flopping on the console.

Don't think so. We as PC Gamers are doing a full beta (Maybe Alpha) test for them so they can have it perfect on release. Many of us don't mind paying for the privilege of being part of that test, NOT!

There's no respect for us PC Gamers any more :(

I know two people personally who would love it if they could play right now but they are on console and have to wait till sometime this summer. We are lucky.

Really? We lucky to pay to play this crap. Wow dude read the anger in the forums. Lots of players are not happy for a variety of reasons.

Not sure if this is the high school mall type kid way of things, but ESO has been nothing but enjoyable...granted I am not from the "NEED IT NOW" type of genre...every MMO has it's bugs.

People that have played since pre-Kunark of EQ1 will know that MMO's is a marathon..not a race.

Yea they really have a tremendous opportunity here.

No they don't, I'm curious if subscriptions will even manage to pay for the server upkeep.

Ps4's and xbox1 don't have that great of market penetration yet, also couple with it the fact the PC release probably hasn't met sell expectations, and well, I don't see the console releases being anything other than a Hail Mary.

Canceling it would hurt them short term for turning a profit on ESO, but it might actually be better for the long game of not turning off a bunch ES fans to future releases; as this game is headed down a path toward flopping hard.

This is all a bit presumptuous. Have Zeni released any information regarding sub numbers etc... and their projected short term costs? If so please point me in the direction so I can check the numbers.

I am not sure on console numbers sold, someone previously mentioned 7m PS4 being sold. I think if they corner just 10% of those that'd be 700'000 new subs. I don't think server maintenance costs 6,293,000 GBP a month, but I could be wrong...

No they haven't released numbers yet, I'm basing my numbers off the PvP campaigns with a couple of other statistics and circumstantial facts to come to the conclusion that sale numbers have probably been far lower than they were expecting. The PvP campaigns are pretty good health indicators, with 2000 people max per, and adjusting based on the percentage of players likely pvping and assigned to a campaign you can get a ball park estimate of players on that server.

Server farm costs can be averaged, based on others in the industry. The costs that are hardest to figure out are things like, if ZOS has cold sites, warm sites, or hot sites running in addition to their primary site.

I think 700,000 is a bit ambitious, I think more realistically 3 to 7 percent may purchase the game on ps4, with about 40 percent of those subbing for another month.

It's a lot of guesstimating, but I just don't see how they could justify development cost for bugs and patches across that many platforms without a larger player base to warrant it.

There aren't any numbers yet, since you had to give info for sub to play the free 30 days, we are in the 30 days so any numbers are bogus, now the numbers next months that will be the telling factor.
What is written above are my honest opinions. If you agree then; "Great!" If you disagree; "Great!" I really couldn't care less either way.

The vast majority of ESO players don't have the same problems that Bleeding Edgers are seeing in the VR levels. My guess is that the average player hasn't reached level 30 yet and is probably enjoying his/her journey through Tamriel in smaller, bite-sized morsels.
With an high chance that the higher level quests will be fixed before they come where.

I hope this guy never has a job to do with finance ever if this is his market analysis for ESO. No clue on costs, no clue on intake, no clue on console vs PC numbers, no clue that 90% of gamers expect this trouble at an MMO launch - it's like the perfect storm of analytics that you'd never want to use. It's like "let me take everything I dont know, and we'll use that to determine a forecast for the game".

Yes during beta everyone was doing pvp as it was the only thing to do then done with quests. Currently most people are leveling up and PvP will become more populated as more players reach max level.

most players was in the beta so userid number just jumped from 4.5 to 4.7 millions at release also most players preordered.
So we have no good sales numbers, my guess is between 600k and 1.5 mill.

Skyrim sold 6 millions of the pc version after some report who calculated it and civilization both sold 6 mill.

The major diference between pc and ps4 / one sales is the lack of rpg for next gen,

With around 10-12 million XBO and PS4 sold in just six months there is doubtful they are even considering canceling it for consoles. If anything they are preparing and making it to become the biggest and best mmorpg ever launched on a console.

Every mmo launch has issues, I've been part of launch on more than I can count, this is normal and the rage of the screamers is old and repetitive . In either case most recent news confirmed from Zeni is that console subs are their own fee (as they use their own servers) so since they discussed sub details, the game is still coming.

This has moved WAY beyond normal MMO launch problems. So far, I have lost 15k gold deposited in my 100 slot bank...I mean 60 slot bank now. I'm also not sure what happened to the 40 items in those slots.

On top of that, my account got banned today along with hundreds, if not thousands of other players for some unknown reason. We have all submitted support tickets, tried calling, etc. One guy was told to unsub and try again in a few months.

I've been playing MMOs since M59 in 95 and have been part of almost every single beta of every major MMO since. I can't recall a worse launch with so many game breaking bugs. Anarchy Online was one that sticks out. It was virtually unplayable for a week but no game busting bugs like this.

An console version was considered pretty early however it would depend on the specifications of next gen who was not set back in 2007. Had PS4 had Wii U specifications it would not work.

As specifications was know it would not be any issues running ESO porting became an project, Sony pushed for this to get increased priority else we might had to wait to Christmas for the console version.

And yes its an good idea as it will give far more subscribers.

It was perfectly reasonable to expect that ESO would be problem free at launch. You have every right to nerdrage. How dare they waste your valuable time.
