Invalid Location using aoe on target dummy

Ok i just build a nice training room in the Lakemire Xanmeer Manor
Placed a platform above the water connected to a path running from the xanmeer to the small island.
I tried using endless hail on the target dummy placed on the platform and it tells me that its an invalid location.
Anyone any idea why this may happen ?

I attached a screenshot off the location, is it the walls ?? weird thing is there is a smaller dummy in there and i can shoot endless hail on him i even placed the bigger one away from the walls

Dummies will weird out when they're not on a surface they like sometimes, but they will weird out every time if they're not placed "correctly" on a level surface.

First try to just raise/lower your dummy by a centimeter, and make sure the toes are *just* touching the ground they're sat upon. This is usually all that's needed.

If no amount of fiddling up/down fixes it, you might have found one of those surfaces that just doesn't count as "floor" for some uses, unfortunately. There's a couple of these not-floor ledges in Psijic Villa that are uncooperative this way; you can usually spot them by casting that floating orb skill in the Undaunted skill line. If the orb suddenly vanishes down into what looks like it should be solid floor, it's probably not counted as a valid surface for whatever reason. You can put another (more reliable) surface *just* under the problematic spot to fix it.

the target dummy is only going to function if placed onto original surfaces of a home or platforms slightly elevated from said surfaces

(same reason that it is not possible to have a proper dueling arena over the waters or in the sky even if the structure seems properly supported)

Feel you, man - have spent hours making pretty training area behind Antiquarian's Alpine Gallery, only for it to end up totally unusable. Saddly, ground based skills will never work if used on player placed platform above water. These platforms don't have valid collision box programed into them (hence the "invalid location" error). If placed above valid surface (like patch of ground or floor originally present inside given house) abilities will cast, but you won't see them (they will be "underground"). So, no custom made training rooms and / or pretty floors for us

. It sucks, but it has been like this for years, with players complaining about it to no avail.
