So the new set in the PTS basically gives 100% buff to weapon traits. As someone in one of my other posts pointed out, it would mean that defensive on an off hand would offer more damage mitigation than a shield.
This is a problem no?
I like the idea it buffs Nirnhoned up to 30% as this will really buff Hybrid characters a lot. Especially when buffs like Brutality and Sorcery are taken into account.
The defensive trait though? I think it is problematic.
Someone suggested doubling the armor on shields to compensate. This is a pretty good idea as it would make sense that shields grant the most armor out of any equipped item. Another idea, is to increase the effectiveness of enchants on shields by 30% or so.
Thoughts?

✭I don't think that extra power on defensive is going to offer more mitigation than the blocking passives on S&B? If this means Frost Staff gets a slight increase in its relative mitigation power compared to S&B, well that's fine, why not?
On the other hand, it's true this set is weaker on an S&B bar than any other weapon, but in the grand scheme of things, I personally think it's a greater concern that the few Defensive/Debuff Enchants had their full strength restored for S&B.

Regen Shields... That's interesting actually. So you would argue that Jewellery Enchants apply to shields instead. I actually like this idea. You could then specialise your shield around what you needed. Extra Poison Resistance, Skill Cost, Weapon Damage, Potion Boost or Regen as you suggested. This idea is gold, seriously gold. I hope someone at ZoS sees this and sees its merit.0 -

Yeah, just the enchants. That would be cool if all the Jewelry enchants could go on a Shield, but mostly many of us just don't like stat drops when switching bars, and we'd much rather have a Regen enchant than anything else.Xbox NA AD / Day 1 ScrubDK / Wood Orc Cuisine Enthusiast0 -

As was observed, the Block passives from using a shield are infinitely more valuable than an extra 2% Resistances.1
