Grim Focus and Lightning Heavy Attacks

I have searched all over and kind find out the current state of NB grim focus ability and how it stack with lightning staff heavy attacks. Some sources say it gives 2 stacks, some only 1. Since each tick of the channel is listed as a light attack by many combat trackers I was wondering if it maybe gives multiple stacks? Thank you in advance!

Nobody ever tested this? If my NB was leveled up I would have tested myself but...

Aargh, I read your post yesterday and I wanted to test it in the evening but I forgot! Will do it tonight.
On a side note, one thing I'm fairly sure about is that in PVE if grim expires you keep the stacks, while that shouldn't be the case for PVP.

In PvP the stack expires whenever it feels like. Usually in the middle of a huge unending fight, as soon as you reach 4 stacks.

I also have never tried this or even thought about it, and would be interested in the results.

I believe one heavy is 2 stacks still but will test in ten mins or so if you like, don't remember them changing anything in that regard.

Forgot to get back to it, yeah 1 fully charged heavy gives 2 stacks, if you got interrupted even at the very end - no stacks.

Yep, tested this with a lighting staff and 1 heavy gives 2 stacks as with the other types of staves and 1 light gives 1 stack. It would have been great if we got 1 stack every tick

You need 5 stacks to get the bow ready.

Note that if you only heavy attack, it's counterproductive because you'd reach full stacks with 3 heavy attacks. It would then be better to do 2 heavies and 1 light.
