Selfless builds-Tanks

my current build is very selfish build. i originally made it to counter fake healers i get from PUGs since i normally do alot of pugs. it has alot of survivability and does require healers in most cases.
in case i get a pro healer for pugs i want to swap gears to a selfless build that buffs allies. preferrably that buffs DD to increase dps.
any suggestions?

i only see tank sets that buffs in terms of defense :(

Most worn is probably Yolnakriin, Powerfull assault (weapon/jewelery) and thremorscale. All 3 increase group damage.

i was searching only for overland and dungeon gear that i must have missed tremorscale and powerful assault. thanks for the tip!
i was aware of yolnakriin but unfortunately i dont do trials.

PA can be bought in guildstores. Bit expensive though.
For yolna, just make a DD, and go for a normal pug in craglorn zonechat. Best time is on weekends afternoon. Its quiet easy actually.

For 3 DD/fake healer: Olorime, PA/Yolna and Symphony
    For 2 DD/healer: 2 of PA/Yolna/Alkosh and Tremor/Blood Spawn

    Yeh, do this.

You don't even need to be good at DPS.

PUG normal sunspire groups are all over the place and it's super easy. Even if you have bad DPS, nobody will know and the group will get it done.

Half of every pug group I've been in just spam light attacks and then one skill every 10 seconds.

One of the few advantages of the console players :D

I'm inclined to the concept of the original old school tank such as high HP, mitigation, perma block etc and pretty much wear only selfish sets. eg Leeching Plate, Plague Doctor. Recently I had to utilise another selfish set namely Senchal Defender seeing how my sustain took such a beating post U28 and U29.

I focus my tank's gear on (selfish) sustain and mitigation via Chudan's, Seducers, Warrior Poet. That allows me to focus on the battlefield instead of survive/sustain and frees up a skill slot or two. I use that ease of survival and skills to best support my group. My experience and skill in tanking is not vast and I don't do trials. My approach works fine for the content I do and have never had any complaints.

I used to be using Yolvakin and Ebon but I swapped to Dragongaurd for more warhorns (or other dps boosting ultimate) now everyone has more hp.

I will never understand this weird thing that tank with high hp and sets allowing them to survive is, as some call it, abomination. Dead tank will not tank yes? [snip] Or on healer, for that matter. Tanks and healers can surely help but not by sacrificing their own stats etc. SPC on healer that I use plus synergies for your precious resources is enough, if this doesn't help you then rethink your build and rotation. Every dd wants to make high numbers but surprisingly they depend on other group members, not dd's skill/build/proper brain usage, funny. I am building tank right now and sure, I have warhorn but will not use Ebon armor coz 1k hp is pathetic and if you need that 1k hp to survive then you have issues. Yolna - no coz I'm not playing trials. I will use what works for me to survive and save you from one-shotting mobs and stuff. Occassionally throw some heals to boost your hp with Minor Toughness (warden main here) unless there is healer warden in group. But really, all this "tanks and healers main role is to boost dd's dps" is just bs. This is group play so maybe dd's could also help tanks and healers and stop dying to tiny trash and kill it faster than trash can kill them.

For improving group DPS, use either Encratis (magicka group) or Tremorscale (stamina group) as monster set, Yolnakriin, Powerful Assault, Alkosh, Olorime (if the healer isn't/no healer/dd wearing it nor Spell Power Cure).

There are other sets for more situational fights, but these are a good start for improving your group's DPS :)
