Ideally, I would like one that doesn’t have an overly complex rotation, and one which is fun to play. I am an older player, and not a natural DD, but I am will to put in the time to get competitive numbers. What mag class would you recommend, and also, what race would be your choice? Thanks
Magcro will guarantee you slot in any trial group as long as you pull the numbers. Its BiS currently, highest dps and best group buffs. And best race for that is currently Khajiit.
I appreciate the recommendation. As it happens, I have a High Elf sorc that I’ve used as a mule for years. I think I even have Mage’s Guild on it, which makes life easier. My only problem with a sorc is the amount of hatred pets used to get in trials. Not sure if things have changed. I only have one sorc (non-pet) in my regular group. I am good for DPS sets. Running DOC trials, I’ve managed to salt away some perfected gear, and I have Sorrow fire staff and jewellery. As an aging player myself, I would rec a magsorc, either a Breton (best sustain) or Altmer (higher damage), but really any race would be fine. I have a couple magsorcs and they're great fun. You can do an easy build with or without pets, but with pets, you can has a super easy and effective rotation. Great for both trials and dungeons as you'll be mostly ranged DD and can avoid a lot of melee damage. Gear for this build is easy to get too--Mother's Sorrow (you can get a lightning staff from a quest in Deshaan, super easy, just google it to find out which quest it is) and Law of Julianos (craftable) to start off will give you plenty of DPS for group content, and basically any good magic Monster Set will work.
Thanks. Cro seems like a safe betCro or blade, high elf or kajiit.
This. I played all the mag classes and magsorc and magblade felt the easiest to play effectively. Magcro is excellent but their rotation is definitely harder because of skills like blastbones and siphon being slightly clunky and have to keep up a lot of skills during rotation.supersonic_kitten wrote: »I'd say magsorc or magblade would be easier to pull off.
